Description:

Instructional assistant working with special education students in 6th and 7th grade in both resource and regular education inclusion classes.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of junior high students

Knowledge of students with disabilities and behavior intervention plans

Dynamic and self-motivated

Student centered

Flexibility and willingness to assume extra responsibility throughout the year

Willing to take direction from classroom teacher and case manager

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Commitment to a child-centered, differentiated approach to teaching and working with adolescents

Working Conditions:

Northbrook is a small, well-funded school district of 2,000 in four schools.  The position is at Northbrook Junior High.  The district is in a North Shore suburb 25 miles north of Chicago.

Salary:

$12.25/hour
