The 2010 AppliTrack Award has been created as a way for General ASP, and the nation-wide network of AppliTrack users, to recognize school districts that are exhibiting an exemplary use of AppliTrack to recruit and hire the best applicants for your school organizations.

This year, five (5) AppliTrack Awards will be granted based on the following criteria: 

• Scope:  Indicate what problem or opportunity the implementation of AppliTrack addressed and how you were able to determine the success of AppliTrack in meeting your specific need(s).
• Impact:  Describe the efficiency or effectiveness that resulted from the implementation of AppliTrack.\
• Personalization:  Describe how your school district took the out-of-the-box version of AppliTrack and tailored or customized it to meet your school district’s unique needs.
• Community Stewardship:  Explain the impact your school district has on its constituent stakeholders and how AppliTrack supports your school districts commitment to education in your community.

Evaluation Process

All submissions will be evaluated by members of the AppliTrack Advisory Board, a group of current AppliTrack school district users who represent a cross-section of AppliTrack’s users throughout the country.  No General ASP/AppliTrack staff member will be included in the selection process.

• A $500 General ASP grant to be applied to your annual AppliTrack subscription
• A plaque for presentation to your school board
• A Press Release which can be distributed to your local media
• A 60-day Featured Employed link on www.K12JobSpot.com to showcase your school district
• A school district showcase in the AppliTrack Connect Newsletter
• A thirty-minute AppliTrack Award Winner webinar presentation to share your unique use of AppliTrack which will be open to all 1,110+ AppliTrack school districts

Description:

We are seeking a developer to support General ASP products, including our flagship product, AppliTrack. AppliTrack is a web-based applicant tracking solution used by over 900 school districts nationwide. Additional responsibilities will include the development and support of new products and procedures. Representative will be responsible for the following:

• Develop in VB.net and classic ASP

• Expand project overviews and motivators into project specifications

• Complete product change requests using in-house tools and predefined procedures
• Configure product in accordance with customer specifications

• Respond to technical support requests via phone and email
• Identify customer issues through problem-solving
• Recommend solutions via phone and email
• Develop documentation for end-users
• Work with development team to enhance products and feature offerings
• Direct and act on other projects as deemed appropriate

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience in a developer role using relational databases and vb.net. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio is needed to be successful in this position. Excellent communication and typing skills, strong ability to work well in a team environment, and firm analytical skills as well as the ability to work well with a variety of end users is also needed. Candidates must be able to logically and politely ask appropriate troubleshooting questions to end users. Prior work experience in an organization supporting a large number of direct end-users is required. Candidates should possess the following:

• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of relational databases (Access, SQL Server)
• Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, T-SQL and VB.Net
• Ability to recognize reoccurring problems and suggest possible solutions
• Experience with supporting complex business processes
• Knowledge of common web-browsers including Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari
• Knowledge of PC hardware and software
