Description:  Part Time Online High School Teachers -- Advanced Placement and World Languages


Job Summary:

Teachers are needed to teach online courses for the CT Virtual Learning Center for Advanced Placement and  World Language courses (Mandarin Chinese I and II and Japanese I and II)  Course include Advanced Placement Statistics, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science A, AP English Literature and  AP English Language.  All language and AP curriculums are prewritten and college board approved and will be provided via Blackboard LMS. Online training is required and will be provided, on a flexible schedule, to qualified candidates. Following training, successful teachers will be selected and hired to teach online courses beginning in the fall, 2009. These students will remain enrolled in their local high schools while taking supplemental online courses offered by the CT Virtual Learning Center for local credit.



Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a current Connecticut teacher certification and possess the skills of an excellent educator. Additionally, ease of use with computers is required, and exposure to online teaching and learning is preferred.

A background check and fingerprinting will be conducted.


Working Conditions:
This part time online position will require a flexible but regular schedule several days per week.
