Performance Responsibilities as a teacher assistant: Specific duties and responsibilities of teacher assistants will vary depending upon program assignment, and will be under the supervision and direction of the teacher in charge. In performing instructional duties, the aide shall assist the teacher in:
Teacher assistant qualifications: (minimum)

certifiable as a teacher assistant;

one year of work experience in the assignment-related capacity
-
interest and desire in working with youth in an educational environment and
-
suitable level of maturity, resourcefulness, and interpersonal/communicative skills
Duties as an Emergency First Aid Provider (EFAP):

Provide appropriate health and nursing assistance to TCD and DAOES students, staff, and visitor
-
Maintain necessary records and files pertinent to the emergency care provider office in conjunction with the DAOES Business Office

Preparation and submission of monthly emergency care provider report to the Principal

Serve as a member of the Safety Committee

Provide health, safety, and nursing instructional resources to the TCD staff

Serve as a resource to administration in health and safety issues
Qualifications for an EFAP: Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED; RN, LPN, EMT, Paramedic or CNA license preferred.
