ESS was established in 2000 with the vision of enhancing the educational experience for students by staffing a variety of talented substitute personnel in school districts, including substitute teachers, school aides, and other support staff. Each day, ESS fills more than 15,000 school vacancies for over 750 clients serving more than 2.5 million students.
Who is an ESS Substitute Employee?
An ESS substitute employee is someone who is hired with the understanding that their association with our partnering school district(s) will be on a substitute basis, as needed, because of the absence of a district employee. Substitute employees are paid at an hourly or per diem rate, determined by the position and qualifications.
