Responsibilities: Long-term substitute position for a Digital Literacy teacher, teaching 5 classes that focuses on introducing students to a wide variety of technologies and digital skills. Instructor should be comfortable with PC computers, iPads and the Google Suite. They should be able to troubleshoot various student issues with technology, and instruct students on course content that may include beginner coding/scratch, beginner HTML, movie making, typing, photo editing, and Google Slides and Sheets.
Salary: Grade 10 (19 hours per week)
The mathematics assistant will be knowledgeable about the mathematics taught in elementary school and enjoy working with students in kindergarten through grade 6. Classroom teaching experience and teacher certification is preferred. The Mathematics Assistant will work up to 19 hours per week, and will complete the following tasks as needed by the teachers and the school.
Assist the classroom teachers by working with teacher designated (or identified) individual students or small groups on lessons that have been assigned by the teacher.
Assist in adjusting curriculum to make it more challenging for higher-level mathematics students
Present alternate approaches to students who are struggling.
Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Communicate with teachers about student performance in their small group or individual instruction.
Assist students in the classroom with mathematics.
Attend monthly meetings with Mathematics Specialist and other district mathematics assistants to share strategies for working with students on mathematics.
