Advisor/Head Coach for Speech and Debate –
The advisor/coach for Speech and Debate at Acton Boxborough Regional High School works with a large group of enthusiastic, smart, creative and competitive groups of 9 – 12 graders. The team meets twice weekly on Monday and Friday after school until 5pm for practice. Tournaments are held primarily on Saturdays beginning in October (approx. 2 per month).
Responsibilities of the advisor (shared if more than one) include but are not limited to:
Collecting and maintaining student registration materials/forms (both school required and team specific)
Collecting and maintaining student and parent contact information (phone, email, social media)
Supervising practices from September through early April, teaching and coaching events as ability allows
Mentoring/managing the student team leaders (captains) as they teach/mentor/manage their peers
Attending team sanctioned tournament trips or arranging for appropriate adult (CORI cleared and trained) coverage
Arranging bus transportation or car pools for student travel to tournaments
Managing team finances with the assistance of the school bookkeeper
Promoting the team in the school and wider community
Maintaining team memberships in the Massachusetts Speech and Debate League and two National Leagues
Assisting students/parents with travel plans for National Championship tournaments in May and June
Salary: Per A.B.E.A. Contract

Position: MTSS Math and Literacy Assistant
Job Description
The Math and Literacy Assistant’s role, under the direction of the Math and Literacy Specialist, is to support students in the MTSS model individually, and in small groups utilizing the district’s reading and math program(s) and other resources as needed.
The MTSS Math and Literacy Assistant will also be required to complete paperwork, perform clerical tasks, and other duties as assigned by the Math and Literacy Specialists and Coaches, and the Assistant Principal and Principal.
Job Responsibilities
Is available to work on Monday, Tuesdays,Thursdays and Fridays when grade levels are implementing MTSS
Faciliate small group activities or lessons.
Be comfortable using technology and office equipment
Work with students individually or in small groups
Assists professional staff in administration and correction of classroom assignments, tests and assessments
Assist with record keeping procedures to document student learning, performance and intervention frequency.
Assists with implementing behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly space, and ensure students are on task (in small groups and in whole class settings)
Construct, copy, distribute and use educational materials as needed
Assist the Math and Literacy Specialist with parent/guardian letters as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in student education
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs
