Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with a Special Education certification or endorsement as an Exceptional Generalist. Desired qualifications include: Excellent knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedures; knowledge of scientifically researched-based materials and curriculum, positive behavior intervention and support systems and data collection; understanding of and experience working with students with wide variety of disabilities, including autism, physical disabilities, and mental disabilities; love, understanding, respect, and realistic expectations for students; strong understanding of child development and how to prepare students for transitions; ability to collaborate with teachers and plan cooperatively to benefit students; ability to supervise and work well with paraprofessionals; excellent classroom management skills; ability to support existing programs; strong interpersonal skills; good public relations skills in dealing with professional and support staffs and parents; and willingness to participate on school and District committees and in required in-service activities.
Applicants must have prior experience teaching swimming lessons and be capable of providing high-quality instruction to Kindergarten through fourth grade students according to Learn-to-Swim levels/curriculum or other nationally recognized water safety/swim lesson curriculum. Instructors must consistently be available Friday mornings (8:45-10:45) and afternoons (12:50-1:50) from September 7 through December 7; January 25 through May 10.
Applicants must be certified lifeguards currently working at University of Wyoming's Half Acre Recreation Center. Lifeguards must consistently be available Friday mornings (8:45-10:45) and afternoons (12:50-1:50) from September 7 through December 7; January 25 through May 10.
