CLASS SUMMARY
The Speech and Language Pathologist works on supplementing, enhancing, and extending speech/language therapy services by completing a variety of tasks such as, but not limited to,direct activities with students designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication. The SLP serves students who have identified speech and language disorders and may have other disabilities as well.
Conducts speech and language screenings, without interpretation, and using screening protocols ; follows and implements documented IEP plans or protocols;documents student progress toward meeting established objectives; works on administering assessments, preparing materials, and performing clerical duties;prepares therapy materials and/or equipment for use in the classroom and therapy activities;adapts or modifies instructional materials and/or equipment as determined by student needs.

Position assists in maintaining student records, tallying data, preparing charts, records, graphs, and reports;assists in organizing classroom activities such as displaying educational materials.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology
LICENSES / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
SLPA Certification through Arizona Department of Health Services
Must be able to pass FBI and State background check or Fingerprint Clearance Card as position requires by policy or Statute
Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on State business

We are seeking teachers with expertise in providing data-driven services and supports in DHH, BVI, early childhood, and/or multiple disabilities. Birth to three and preschool teachers work together to support families in the transition from IDEA Part C services (birth to age three) to IDEA Part B services (age three to age five). Our teachers believe in the unique potential of each child and the central role communication plays in the development of the whole child. To that end, teachers have frequent opportunities to network with other professionals and participate in ongoing staff development to ensure they are current on research-based practices in the field.
BIRTH TO THREE POSITIONS
The Early Learning Program offers family-centered, home- and community-based services in urban and rural areas across the state for families with children who are DHH, BVI, and deafblind. Teachers work in cooperation with the Arizona Early Intervention Program in designing and implementing services to families. As part of the early intervention team, teachers
prepare for and conduct home visits;
coordinate and conduct relevant assessments;
work with families in understanding sensory impairment;
provide families and teams with strategies and activities to support child development and IFSP outcomes; and
monitor progress.
PRESCHOOL POSITIONS
The Early Learning Program offers student-centered, site-based preschool services in Phoenix and Tucson for students who are DHH. Teachers work in cooperation with IEP teams in providing students access to the Arizona Early Learning Standards. As part of the preschool team, teachers
use current diagnostic practices to design individualized education plans;
design and implement evidence-based, quality instruction to children individually and in small groups
create language-rich environments to support IEP goals; and
conduct ongoing progress monitoring to inform instruction.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to pass FBI and State background check.
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in DHH, BVI, early childhood, and/or multiple disabilities.
Certified/certifiable by the AZ Department of Education in hearing impaired or visually impaired.
Applicants without a certificate in hearing or vision impairment, but with a degree/certification in mild/moderate disabilities, moderate/severe disabilities, or early childhood special education, may be considered if willing to seek endorsement in hearing or vision impairment.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Human Resources Analyst provides human resources services and consultation to departments of the Agency. Administers and coordinates benefits and leaves, Workers Comp, staff recognition, and the development and training of staff members and management for assigned departments. Develops, recommends, establishes with approval and communicates human resources services, programs and procedures, which recognize and respond to the different needs and concerns of the Agency.
Consults with department/unit management regarding employee relations concerns and issues, such as management and employee rights and responsibilities and best practices to reduce conflict and litigation. Arranges for training needs, assesses and assists in the design and delivery of client training and development programs. Collaborate with agency staff in drafting related policies and procedures in the assigned areas.
Administers and coordinates orientation, enrollment and maintenance of staff member benefits for new and existing staff members including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, retirement, and flexible spending accounts. Provides benefit support to Agency staff by acting as the liaison between ADOA, ASRS and Risk Management. Reviews, recommends, and tracks all leave of absence requests for staff members including all necessary legal notifications and Agency notifications and invoices for benefits. Coordinates with payroll to ensure that staff members are compensated properly when on leave according to Agency policies and regulations. Provides COBRA notification in compliance with legal guidelines for separated staff members as requested.
Assists in compiling and preparing information for reporting purposes as support to the Director and Agency Leadership staff and to meet reporting requirements to other State and Federal Agencies. Monitors information entered into all electronic databases (such as HRIS, SafeSchools, ADE) utilized by Human Resources Department to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, ADOA rules, and ASDB policies and procedures. Acts as Agency Liaison for programs utilized by agency staff (SafeSchools, TraCorp, ASEDRA) to ensure processes are running smoothly. Coordinates Agency EEOC activities and reporting.
May act as a lead worker for other Human Resources staff members by providing guidance and support. Confers with Director providing necessary information and advice; receives instruction and guidance; and attends to matters assigned by the Director.
