Positions are in the Bemidji Summer Learning Program at Bemidji High School starting June 11, 2026 and ending July 23, 2026 with a minimum hourly rate of $31.75. These positions are 3.5 hours per day (8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.) Monday – Thursday and the exact number of tutors will depend upon the number of students enrolled. Applicants must be currently licensed teachers and preference will be given to those teachers licensed to teach Elementary Education (grades K-6), Mathematics (grades Middle School or grades 7-8), and/or English/Language Arts (grades Middle School or grades 7-8). Preference will also be given to those applicants who have experience in the After School/Summer Learning Program.

These are 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday positions. Applicants with grounds keeping experience or training will be given preference. These are school term, job level 1 ($19.48/hour) or job level 2 ($20.14/hour) positions at various locations. These positions are between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. depending on the position. Food Service Workers assist in food preparation, is responsible for the customer computerized meal program, and maintains sanitary conditions. Applicants with computer skills preferred.
Summer Positions exist for Water Safety Instructors (WSI), Lifeguards, and Swim Club Coaches in the Community Education Aquatics Program. WSI/Lifeguards: The hourly pay range is $14.81-$18.16. Daytime and evening hours are available. Applicants must have current American Red Cross certification in WSI and/or Lifeguard Training plus CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification. These certifications may be obtained through Community Education. Swim Club Coaches: The hourly pay range is $15.42-$19.79. Coaches will work 8 to 15 hours per week. To qualify applicants must have CPR, First Aid, and safety training for swim coaches or lifeguard training.
Applications are being accepted for Site Leaders, Activity Leaders, and substitutes for the Summer Kids & Company program. Program dates are Monday - Friday, June 15 - August 7, 2026. Employees will have 3 shift options, 7am-1pm, 12pm-6pm or 8am-12pm & 1pm-5pm. We will be located at Bemidji High School for this summer.
Site Leaders: The hourly pay range is $14.74-$20.53. Requirements: (1) experience training, leading. and providing guidance to multiple staff members, (2) strong organizational & problem solving skills, (3) flexible and positive attitude, (4) ability to assist other staff with understanding the needs and behaviors of young children, and (5) interpersonal skills with children and adults.
Activity Leaders: The hourly pay range is $14.29-19.79. Requirements: (1) education courses related to school age development &/or experience working with elementary age school children (2) strong interpersonal skills, (3) ability to plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities for young children, and (4) positively guide and provide direction to other staff.
Potential required work date includes June 10, 2026, for program setup and training. The program will be closed June 19th. Preference given to those available to work Monday - Friday for the duration of the program. Preference will also be given to those with previous experience in Kids & Company or Summer Kids & Company.
Community Education is looking for coaches for a variety of youth sports and activities. Applicants must have some knowledge of the program they will be involved in and an ability and interest in working with youth. Coaches provide instruction on basic skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Schedule will be determined at the time of hiring for this position. Pay rate is $13.78 to $17.43 per hour.
These are school term, job level 4 ($21.50-$21.88), 7.0 hours per day positions at Bemidji Middle School and Bemidji High School. These positions provide academic support for American Indian students in individual and small group interventions and tutoring. Applicants must possess a strong background in math, reading, and language arts. This is a school-term, job level 11 ($28.42-28.80/hour), 7 hours/day (7:30-3:00 p.m. with half hour duty-free lunch) position. The interpreter facilitates communication between hearing persons and Deaf/hard of hearing students by providing sign language services. Assists teachers in maintaining a positive learning environment for Deaf/hard of hearing students. Establishes good working relationships with educational professionals to meet the needs of Deaf/hard of hearing students. It is desired but not necessary that the candidate have knowledge and experience working with preschool children. Preference is given to applicants proficient in American Sign Language and hold appropriate certification. Certified Interpreters will be paid an additional $2.00 per hour for each work day they hold the certification.
Depending on placement and setting assigned, additional duties may be required such as tutoring, toileting, and facilitating the acquisition of sign language for preschool students.
These are on call positions. The hourly wage is $23.32. Specific training on school district policies and procedures for health care will be provided. An understanding of childhood illness and medical conditions of special needs students are preferred. Applicants must hold a current LPN or RN license.
These are job level 4 ($21.50-$21.88/hour), school term, variable hours per day positions to begin in the 2025-2026 school year. Special education paraprofessionals work under the direction of a teacher and a building administrator. They work with one or more students with various types of disabilities. Duties may include and are not limited to assisting students with academics, helping to lift students, assist with physical needs such as toileting, and addressing behavior and/or emotional needs.This position does not require a license, however, our paraprofessional positions require candidates to be considered "highly qualified" under the Code of Federal Regulations.

Hours vary widely due to the variety of route lengths. Morning hours range from 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. Afternoon hours range from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. New drivers are assigned as substitute drivers and may apply for contract route openings as they occur. Opportunities also exist to work as a substitute route driver or an extracurricular trip driver. These positions offer flexibility and can easily work with changing schedules and commitments. If selected, applicants will be entered into a training program that includes behind-the-wheel training and classroom instruction. Bus driver trainees will be paid $15.89 per hour for up to 30 hours of driver trainings. After completion of training, applicants are entered into a paid mentoring program. The starting wage for substitute drivers is $21.67 per hour. Anyone that drives both an A.M. and P.M. shift within the same day is paid $26.67 per hour (this includes $5.00 per hour as a split shift differential). These are school term, job level 1 ($19.36/hour with a $4.50 per hour shift differential), positions with the Transportation Department. These positions range from 4 to 6 hours per day. The work hours are approximately 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Bus Monitors assist the bus driver in the safe transportation of students to and from school. Duties include loading and unloading students, monitoring students, assisting with student discipline and assisting students with physical needs.
