The Berea City School District is accepting applications for substitute aides on the school bus. The Berea City School District is seeking applicants as substitute Transportation Assistants. The rate of pay as a substitute is $14.61/hour.Job Objective: Monitors and assists students during bus trips. Minimum • High school diploma.Qualifications: • Meets all mandated health screening requirements. • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. • Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures. • Commitment to keep current with skills essential to the objectives of the position. • Satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing random drug/alcohol test results. • Valid state department of education permit appropriate for the assignment. • Physical ability to safely lift and manage preschoolers and students with disabilities. • Ability to cope with stressful traffic, weather conditions, and passenger distractions. • Demonstrates maturity and the ability to work with students and their families. • Ability to interact comfortably and confidently with the public.
The Berea City School District is accepting applications for substitute school bus drivers. CDL Licensed, Class B, Airbrake and pre-service certificate preferred but not required. The rate of pay as a substitute bus driver for the 2026-2027 school year is $23.01/hr. Onsite training available.* Required to pass ODE regulated physical exam and drug screening as well as satisfactory results from FBI/BCI fingerprinting and driving abstract. *Driver trainees who are not fully certified to be contracted drivers will be considered Driver Candidates and will be compensated $14.61 per hour for the 2026-2027 school year for training with the On Board Instructor.
