The Berea City School District is accepting applications for substitute custodians. This is on call "as needed". High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift assignments possible. Paid onsite training. $18.73 per hour (2025-2026 school year), no benefits. Must undergo a satisfactory background check screening prior to training. The cost of the background check ($46.00) must be incurred by candidate.

The Berea City School District is seeking applicants to be hired as paraprofessional substitutes to work on an as-needed basis. This includes duties such as assisting in the classroom, monitoring students in the lunchroom, playground, study halls, etc. We are especially looking for applicants who would like to substitute for the paraprofessionals who work with our special needs students in the middle school and high school.

Compensation: $25.00/hour (not to exceed 100 hours)
Assist with building permits as needed for event setup.
Provide audio visual technology support during concerts, shows, and events.
Oversee and operate stage lighting and sound systems.
Configure and operate theatrical lighting, including instruments, dimmers, DMX systems, and bulb/wattage requirements.
Manage stage rigging and drapery setup.
Operate both analog and digital sound mixing systems.
Select and manage microphones based on event needs, understanding dynamics and capabilities.
Perform periodic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ensure safe and effective technical operations during all events.
Working knowledge of stage rigging and drapery.
Proficiency with theatrical lighting systems, instruments, and DMX configuration.
Familiarity with analog and digital sound mixing.
Understanding of microphone types, dynamics, and capabilities.
Ability to oversee and operate lighting and sound for concerts and shows.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule.

The Berea City School District is accepting applications for substitute aides on the school bus. The Berea City School District is seeking applicants as substitute Transportation Assistants. The rate of pay as a substitute is $14.18/hour. Job Objective: Monitors and assists students during bus trips. Minimum · High school diploma. Qualifications: · Meets all mandated health screening requirements. · A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. · Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures. · Commitment to keep current with skills essential to the objectives of the position. · Satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing random drug/alcohol test results. · Valid state department of education permit appropriate for the assignment. · Physical ability to safely lift and manage preschoolers and students with disabilities. · Ability to cope with stressful traffic, weather conditions, and passenger distractions. · Demonstrates maturity and the ability to work with students and their families. · Ability to interact comfortably and confidently with the public.
The Berea City School District is accepting applications for substitute school bus drivers. CDL Licensed, Class B, Airbrake and pre-service certificate preferred but not required. The rate of pay as a substitute bus driver is $22.34/hr. Onsite training available.* Required to pass ODE regulated physical exam and drug screening as well as satisfactory results from FBI/BCI fingerprinting and driving abstract. *Driver trainees who are not fully certified to be contracted drivers will be considered Driver Candidates and will be compensated $14.18 per hour for training with the On Board Instructor.
