THIS POSITION IS FOR 7.5 HOURS PER DAY AT 180 DAYS PER YEAR.PAY FOR POSITION: PSE Salary Schedule Level 11 -- $ 33.69MULTIPLE OPENINGS AVAILABLE GENERAL SUMMARYThis position's responsibilities are to assist in the instruction of students with communication disorders as directed by the Speech-Language Pathologist. Responsibilities vary with assignment, but typically include tutoring students in prescribed learning activities, assisting students individually or in small groups, assisting with school and classroom management, and assisting with the maintenance of student records. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDepending upon the individual assignment, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant may perform all or a combination of the following: 1. Assists in the instruction of students individually or in small groups in a variety of speech and language learning activities assigned by the Speech-Language Pathologist; promotes student understanding of materials presented. Communicates with Speech-Language pathologist concerning individual student progress.2. Assists students in assigned therapy programs to progress toward objectives listed on individual education plan (IEP) goals under the Speech-Language Pathologist's direction; may locate, develop or modify materials for student use. Provides guidance and motivation to students; facilitates mastery of skills concept; promotes completion of work.3. Works with students who have a variety of speech/language concerns, handicapping conditions, and/or behavior problems. Under the guidance of a Speech-Language Pathologist adjusts methods to meet the needs of students. Communicates with Speech-Language Pathologist and classroom teachers concerning therapy and remediation areas; may instruct students in a pull-out model or may also work in a classroom setting following the inclusion model in a variety of therapy areas.4. Assists Speech-Language Pathologist in maintaining progress reports; logs information concerning student progress and/or problems; maintains graphs and charts; may maintain records on a computer; assists in completing end-of-year progress reports.5. Monitors student communication behaviors and assists with classroom management; facilitates mastery of social adjustment skills; ensures that students stay on task; addresses student behaviors in alignment with building and district protocols.6. Records student communication behaviors during the implementation of therapy on an anecdotal record through observation. OTHER FUNCTIONS7. Types, duplicates, collates, and distributes classroom materials and projects. Creates posters and charts; designs bulletin boards; operates office and laminating equipment as requested by Speech-Language Pathologist.8. Maintains physical appearance of the therapy area, hallways, and other assigned areas; straightens chairs and tables; puts away materials after use.9. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSReports to the speech language pathologist and Director of Special Services. Receives guidance from assigned speech language pathologist or assigned certificated staff. MENTAL DEMANDSClassroom and school environment. May experience frequent interruptions. Required to deal with a wide range of student behavior, academic abilities and learning styles, which may include angry or distraught students. GENERAL SUMMARY This position's responsibilities are to provide a wide variety of support to the school nurse by providing nursing care as outlined in health care plans, maintaining student health records, assessing the health needs of students to provide first aid or referrals, and assisting in nursing procedures. GENERAL SUMMARY
This position's responsibilities are to assist certificated staff in a variety of activities for preschool special education students, including instructing students individually or in small groups, and supervising student behavior and supervising student activities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Depending upon the individual assignment, the Paraeducator - Preschool Special Education may perform all or a combination of the following:
1. Provides instruction and other assistance to special needs preschool students ages 3 to 5 in a partially self-contained/partially integrated program. Works with students individually or in small groups in a variety of learning activities to promote student understanding of materials presented. Provides encouragement, reinforcement and achievement of educational objectives and goals defined by certificated staff.
2. Communicates with instructor and program specialists concerning individual student progress; adjusts methods to meet the needs of a wide variety of students.Assist professional staff in implementing a targeted program.
3. Keeps students focused on specific tasks. Supervises student behavior in the classroom, on the playground, at bus area, on field trips, in washrooms, and at other sites as needed. Accompanies students to, from, and during specialists activities. Corrects behaviors and maintains discipline according to established policies and procedures. Instructs students in behavioral rules and codes for student safety, socialization and individual growth.
4. Assists students with interpersonal and personal skills mastery.
5. Establishes and maintains effective communication with students, staff, and parents for student progress, safety, and community relations.Assists with parent and student volunteers in program activities.
6. Provides assistance to physically handicapped students, such as lifting and positioning or assistance with personal hygiene.
7. Maintains physical safety and well-being of students; assists students with entering and exiting buses, getting in and out of chairs or wheelchairs, getting on and off a toilet, diapering, and in other forms of personal and interpersonal conduct. Monitors need for first aid for injured or ill students and refers for treatment as appropriate; tracks and dispenses authorized medication as required.
8. Prepares and sets up snacks and lunches for children; prepares specialized food and sets up adaptive equipment, orders snack items and paper products. Maintains inventory of food service supplies; teaches children basic food preparation skills. Assists children with eating and associated social behaviors. Cleans up after meals; wipes and disinfects tables and counter areas.
9. Assists students with self-help skills; teaches them to put on and remove clothes, eat properly, use the toilet, and care for other aspects of personal safety, cleanliness and hygiene.
10. Assists students with physical movement and exercise; follows specific regimen developed by therapist.
11. May accompany instructor when visiting the students in their home settings. Assists in documenting the visit and recording observations.
12. Maintains cleanliness and order of classroom and toys and equipment. Maintains, assembles and stores playground equipment as assigned; maintains supplies as assigned.
13. Alerts qualified district staff to student problems.
14. Prepares, duplicates, collates and distributes materials; operates a variety of office equipment.

This position's responsibilities are to serve as bookkeeper and caretaker of Associated Student Body (ASB) funds at a secondary school. Responsibilities include receiving money, processing purchase orders, reconciling bank statements, coordinating the ASB budget and related ASB accounting transactions.
Depending upon the individual assignment, the Clerk – ASB, Secondary may perform all or a combination of the following:
1. Receives, writes receipts for, counts and verifies monies for various activities. Prepares bank deposits and drives deposits to the bank.

PAY FOR THIS POSITION:2025-26 Substitute Bus Assistant Rate: $20.10/hourThis position's responsibilities are to assist a special education bus driver in the loading, unloading and safe transportation of students having special physical needs or behavior disorders.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDepending upon the individual assignment, the Transportation Bus Assistant may perform all or a combination of the following:1. Assists special education students in boarding and departing from bus; secures them properly in their seats; secures wheelchairs and other support devices.2. Maintains a high level of rapport with students and parents. Maintains a high level of safety and health awareness when transporting students; observes students for seizures, disruptive or dangerous behavior, personal hygiene and a variety of medical and physical conditions; maintains confidentiality of student conditions.3. Works together as a team with the bus driver; responds jointly to medical, behavioral, physical, accident and evacuation emergencies as necessary.4. Operates a variety of lifts, wheelchairs, tie-downs, harnesses and emergency ramps.5. Assists in cleaning and sanitizing the bus. Applies cleaning compound as necessary to clean, remove and disinfect spillages of blood, vomit, bodily wastes, etc.6. Creates a positive atmosphere for students.7. Maintains current knowledge and skills in the field of special needs students, equipment and emergency procedures.8. Assists new and substitute drivers in finding routes and student locations.OTHER FUNCTIONS9. Assists driver in a variety of functions as requested.10. May serve on various district committees and/or departmental work teams. Models appropriate and cooperative behavior, including protecting confidential information, consistent with district ethical guidelines.11. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDepending upon the individual assignment the Bus Driver may perform all or a combination of the following:1. Drives a school bus to transport students safely to and from school for their education; transports students safely to and from field trips and other special events.2. Performs pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of assigned bus; checks oil, water and fuel and other fluid levels; checks lights, buzzers, tires, belts, brakes, and other safety equipment; takes corrective action as appropriate to ensure safe bus operation; reports needs for bus maintenance or repair as necessary.3. Supervises and corrects student behavior in and around school bus for student safety; models safe and appropriate behavior; maintains student discipline on the bus; instructs students in safe and responsible behavior on the bus.4. Maintains effective communication with students, parents, school staff and administrators, dispatchers, mechanics, other drivers and the public for safety and community relations. Promotes a positive environment for student learning.5. Observes and obeys state, local and school district laws and regulations, rules, policies and procedures related to safe driving and safe pupil transportation; conducts bus fire drills and emergency evacuation drills for student safety.6. Issues discipline slips as required by district policy. Advises students with bus discipline problems; meets with principal or parent if warranted.7. Provides first aid to injured or ill students as necessary.8. Assists students with a variety of concerns and problems, such as changes in destination, locating siblings and other transportation related matters; checks notes and written permission or secures verbal permission from parent for non-routine student transportation.9. Maintains and updates route maps. Protects vehicle from damage and vandalism as possible. Utilizes two-way radio to communicate with dispatcher.OTHER FUNCTIONS10. Maintains log of bus activity, passenger count, mileage, fuel and other data as required.11. Performs routine bus maintenance activities such as adding fuel, oil, and fluids, and sweeping and washing the bus. May clean bus of spilled bodily fluids following approved procedures.12. May orient substitute drivers to assigned routes and schedules.13. May serve on various district committees and/or departmental work teams. Models appropriate and cooperative behavior, including protecting confidential information, consistent with district ethical guidelines.14. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.15.
