SMAC is an inter-district agency providing special education services to children from preschool through grade 12, throughout the state of Maine. We are part of a state-wide initiative fostering collaboration between districts to fill special service provider shortages, achieving efficiencies for schools and cost-savings for taxpayers. Our team of SLP’s, Psychologists, Special Educators, and Behavioral Health Professionals serve Maine's young learners in districts from Kittery to Madawaska.
Brief Job Duties: The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: 1. Assessing children's communication skills for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment. 2. Collaborating with a variety of groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines. 3. Developing and implementing treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements. Certification/License:

Instructional Leadership Make recommendations to senior leadership regarding instructional models and best practices for multilingual learner programming. Facilitate the ML Curriculum Design Team to ensure coherent and vertically aligned programming across all grade levels (K-12). 2. Assessment and Data Management Monitor and coordinate district-wide ML assessments including WIDA Screener and ACCESS for ELLs administration. Analyze annual WIDA scores and other assessment data to inform instructional practices and programming decisions. 3.
