Bloomington Public Schools is looking to hire several on-call subs who can be notified in advance or on short notice to cover the front desk of our schools. The subs will mainly work at our District Office located in Oak Grove Middle School, and other schools as needed.

A paraprofessional substitute, often called a "para sub," assists teachers and supports students in a school setting. Their duties may include helping with classroom management, providing one-on-one or small group instruction, supporting students with special needs, and aiding in daily classroom activities. They might also assist with supervising students during breaks, and help ensure that the classroom environment is conducive to learning. Their goal is to support both teachers and students to maintain a productive and positive learning experience. Sub Paras are mainly in Special Education classrooms.
You will be contacted by the Substitute Paraprofessional Coordinator regarding your application materials and to schedule an orientation.
