Brainerd Public Schools is seeking a full-time Humanities/Literacy Coordinator with knowledge of the evidence-based practices for curriculum design and literacy instruction, with a proven track record of teaching students to read and write.

The District Humanities/Literacy Coordinator will facilitate professional development group activities for teachers in the school as directed in collaboration with other instructional leaders (including principals) to create a comprehensive system of instruction for literacy, social studies, and world languages. The Humanities/Literacy Coordinator works one-on-one and in small groups with teachers and leaders, providing guidance, training, and other resources as needed on a daily or weekly basis for the implementation of grade-level, content area, or program development supported by evidence-based practices.
Instructional leadership
The Humanities/Literacy Coordinator works collaboratively with administrators and educational leaders to address literacy or humanities-specific academic issues teachers face daily in their classrooms and programs. This includes supporting the work of aligning instruction to state academic standards, reviewing data, implementing evidence-based practices, and developing assessments. Lead Special Education Teacher Role and Responsibilities
Summary: A Special Education Lead Teacher plays a crucial role in supporting students with disabilities and ensuring they receive the appropriate resources and accommodations for academic success.
Essential job responsibilities (all positions):
Lead the creation, development, and implementation of evaluations and IEPs for students with disabilities.
Work collaboratively with parents, general education teachers, counselors, and specialists to ensure the IEPs meet the students' specific needs.
Lead and coordinate special education team meetings, including collaborating with other educators, administrators, educational assistants, and outside specialists.

Job Summary
The Teacher of the Blind or Visually impaired provides direct, consultative and coordinated services for students with vision impairments across member districts. This role supports equitable access to the curriculum, independent, and self-advocacy through specialized instruction (including Braille and assistive technology), functional vision, and learning media assessments, adaptations, resources, and professional collaboration. This position actively participates in identification of students, IEP development, transition planning, professional learning, and regional initiatives to promote inclusion, reduce isolation, and enhance skills for students with visual impairments.
This position works with the Paul Bunyan Education Cooperative and services the school communities of Aitkin, Brainerd, Crosby-Ironton, Crosslake Community Charter, Discovery Woods Charter, Pequot Lakes, Pillager, and Pine River Backus.
