JOB GOAL: The PIC/PIRS plays an essential role in implementing and maintaining high-quality preschool programming. This position supports classroom teachers by promoting developmentally appropriate instructional practices that align with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:13A-4.2 and 4.4.
The PIC/PIRS collaborates with teachers to enhance classroom instruction, providing coaching, modeling, and professional development to improve teaching effectiveness. Additionally, the PIC/PIRS works closely with staff to identify and support children who may benefit from targeted instructional strategies or interventions. This includes consulting with teachers to adapt and modify curriculum, environment, and practices to meet diverse learner needs.
By using data to inform decisions and ensuring consistent implementation of high-quality practices, the PIC/PIRS helps build teacher capacity and fosters inclusive, engaging, and effective learning environments for all preschool children.
