The Arkansas River, just minutes away, has Gold Medal fly fishing. One of our most popular events is in September, when MainStreet is closed down for the annual Valley Strong Community Dinner which draws approximately 3000 community members. Westcliffe also offers stargazing, the High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival, Stampede Rodeo, farmer's market, art shows and galleries, and many other events.
Our school has one of the highest rated early childhood programs in the area. We offer a culinary elective taught by Chef Brett Bowdish, former chef to Sam Walton, Walt Disney World, and the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Our FFA program is only 1 of 12 in the entire nation to have access to a working ranch.
