We are currently seeking an Assistant Rowing Coach to join the Athletic Department for the 2026 Spring season.
Position: Assistant Rowing Coach, Upper School
Reports to: Director of Athletics
FLSA Status: Stipend, part-time position
Job Responsibilities:
Duties include:
- Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition; this will include plans for experienced and brand-new rowers
- Collaborate with coaching staff to plan, organize and run daily practices
- Attend all practices and competitions at the direction of the Head Rowing Coach and Director of Athletics
- Supervise student-athletes during all team activities
- Comply with Sacred Heart and sport-specific organization policies and procedures
- Assist in maintaining equipment
- Communicate effectively with parents and students
Seasons starts March 2026, Typical practice times are:
4:00-6:00pm, Monday- Friday; occasional weekends for races /and morning training sessions
Travel with the team for practices and races is required. Races will require some weekend travel
Qualifications
The ideal coaching candidate will have experience with the sport at the college level, or equivalent, expertise in teaching sport-specific skills and strategy and the ability to relate and communicate effectively with young women.
The candidate should be energetic, approachable, knowledgeable, and eager to be an active member of a dynamic athletic and learning community.

Position: Director of Security and Safety Reports to: CFO/COO FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary The Director of Security and Safety performs supervisory and administrative tasks in developing, implementing, and managing programs designed to effectively address security, school safety needs and traffic control. They are responsible for coordinating a comprehensive school safety program, which includes serving as primary liaison to local law enforcement agencies. Works extensively with the board, school administrators and community on all areas of school safety. Work also involves implementing training programs pertaining to matters of safety and security for site-based administrators and helps to develop and monitor school safety area of the school improvement plans. Reports to the CFO/COO Essential Functions
Coordinates a comprehensive security/school safety program.
Performs basic personnel administration duties, including hiring security staff, orienting new staff, assigning work, scheduling, disciplining, and coordinating with outside security contractor;
Serves as a liaison with local law enforcement agencies to monitor law enforcement issues on the school campuses.
Assists in the development and implementation of security plans for special events involving the school facilities.
Advises and assists administrators in matters involving criminal activities on school campuses.
Participates in the development and maintenance of a School-wide Crisis Response Plan.
Assists/advises in the development of crisis management/emergency response plans as part of school’s safety plan.
Coordinates with administrators, Maintenance and Facilities department to address and correct safety/security issues on school campuses.
Prepares memos, reports, drawings, etc. related to safety and traffic issues on school campuses and forwards those to Maintenance, Facilities or other appropriate departments.
Serves as a liaison with other agencies such as local and state Departments of Transportation, Center for Prevention of School Violence, and others to provide resources and information related to school safety.
Provides periodic updates to the CFO/COO and President of School on matters pertaining to school safety.
Participates in professional organizations as well as various committees related to school safety.
Provide and or implement training programs pertaining to matters of safety and security for administrators, faculty and staff.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 8 years of law enforcement or related experience, including at least 3 years of progressive management experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and analytic skills.
Knowledge and commitment to best practice standards related to safety and security in congregate care settings strongly preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must possess and maintain a Connecticut Security Officers Firearms Certification (Blue Card) as per State of Connecticut law Sec. 29-161b to carry a concealed firearm.
This position is on call for emergencies

We are currently seeking an Upper School Mathematics Teacher to join in the vision of our Mathematics Department for the 2026-2027 school year. We seek a dynamic math teacher capable of teaching a broad range of courses across the high school curriculum, including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, and Calculus at both the college preparatory and honors levels. Experience with AP-level courses, particularly Calculus and Probability & Statistics, is a plus. While versatility across multiple courses is valued, we are especially looking for a candidate who can teach Geometry and Algebra I in the coming academic year.

Essential Responsibilities/Capabilities

Genuine passion for and command of subject matter, including Statistics and the sequence of Geometry through Calculus, and enthusiasm for working with high school students
Specialized knowledge of financial skills, financial technology, and entrepreneurship, with the ability to design a course to provide students with financial literacy for the 21st century
Experience and demonstrated success in implementing a scaffolded, organized, inquiry-based, student-centered instructional approach
Instructional design that encourages students to think critically, ask questions, and reason creatively while problem-solving, and inspires confidence in their own abilities
Learning opportunities to encourage curiosity, exploration, and discovery appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of the students
Diverse strategies and approaches to support all learners through in a caring classroom environment where students learn and interact positively with one another
Proficiency with current educational technology, especially as part of classroom instruction and for hybrid/distance learning; facility with electronic communication and learning management applications
Development of formative and summative assessments that portray differentiated approaches to identifying student understanding
Evaluation of student work that exhibits fairness, consistency, and prompt response to student progress
Maintain supportive relationships with the student, advisor, parents, and families
Provide written reports to parents on students’ academic progress, social growth and learning needs at designated times of the year, and meet with parents as necessary
Engaged participation in the Upper School community, including division and departmental meetings, and assigned non-instructional duties
A master’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, or a related field, is preferred and 2+ years of experience teaching the aforementioned courses to Upper School students. The candidate should be able to provide lesson plans which include the integration of inductive learning. Candidate is energetic, approachable, knowledgeable, and eager to be an active member of a dynamic learning community.
