POSITION OVERVIEW:The Associate Principal of Student Services provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of special education, counseling, student services, and student discipline at Barrington High School. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality programming, compliance, and support systems that promote student achievement, positive behavior, attendance, social-emotional well-being, and post-secondary readiness.
REPORTS TO: Barrington High School Principal & District Student Services Administrators
SUPERVISES: Assistant Principals of Student Services, The Special Education Team Lead TOSA, Special Education and related services staff, Student Services staff, special education paraprofessionals, and other assigned student services support staff.

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires advanced organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills. The role involves extensive collaboration with students, families, staff, and community partners; frequent meetings; use of technology and data systems; and regular movement throughout the school environment. Occasional evening commitments may be required to support student services programs, family meetings, and district initiatives. The position may involve light lifting (up to 25 lbs.), prolonged periods of sitting or standing, and frequent walking.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Department Chair for Language Acquisition and World Languages serves as a building-based administrator with responsibility for instructional leadership, staff supervision, and program coordination for Multilingual Learners and World Language programming at the high school level. This position also maintains a limited teaching assignment of two (2) classes per day to remain connected to instructional practice.
The Department Chair works closely with the Principal, Associate and Assistant Principals, and the Director of Language Acquisition to ensure high-quality instruction, compliance with state and federal requirements, and equitable access to programming for multilingual learners. This role balances administrative leadership with direct instructional responsibilities to effectively support staff, students, and families.
REPORTS TO: Principal and Associate Principal of Instruction and Future Readiness
SUPERVISES:
Certified and non-certified staff assigned to the Language Acquisition and World Language programs, including formal supervision and evaluation responsibilities in accordance with district procedures.
