The applicant hired for this position will be required to participate in New Teacher Academy prior to the start of the school year: Dates for New Teacher Academy: August 7-13, 2025 The Cumberland Valley School District is seeking a full-time elementary music teacher. This position will be responsible for teaching elementary general music for students in grades K-5, direct elementary chorus for students in grades 4-5, and support elementary instrumental instruction for band/orchestra for students in grade 5 at Winding Creek Elementary. An active and valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification is required for this position. Prior experience as a music teacher is also preferred. Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the physical and psychological aspects of elementary school-aged children and good communication skills. Must understand and be able to teach the approved curriculum. The professional candidate(s) selected for this assignment understands and agrees that they may be required to teach in a blended or online format as requested by administration.

Duties include performing tasks related to traffic and parking control, monitoring large gatherings for suspicious activity, performing general security tasks to include possible de-escalation and emergency response.
