Job Goal: The 12-month Assistant Principal for Township High School District 211, reporting directly to the Principal, will work to support and advance student academic achievement and growth by leading data-driven systems that include attendance, behavior, and academic performance; strengthening instructional leadership and staff effectiveness; while ensuring safe, efficient school operations that promote equitable outcomes for all students.Primary Duties:

Description:The department chair serves as the instructional leader and administrative liaison of their department. The department chair leads curriculum development and alignment, supports and mentors department staff, manages instructional resources, and collaborates with administration to improve student learning outcomes. Key responsibilities include facilitating department meetings, evaluating departmental staff, analyzing student performance data to inform instructional decisions, coordinating curriculum alignment with departmentally designed critical learning standards, developing a departmental budget, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the department. Department chairs carry a teaching load as prescribed by the terms of the teacher contract.Responsibilities May Include:
Qualifications:Candidates must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience; possess an endorsement in general administrative, teacher leadership, or principal leadership; or be currently enrolled in a principal preparation or teacher leadership program. Successful candidates must complete the PERA-mandated teacher evaluation training by the start date and are expected to complete their teacher leadership or principal preparation coursework within two years, if applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction and Student Learning• Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-aligned instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students.• Develop and implement instructional strategies that promote active student engagement and critical thinking.• Establish clear learning objectives and communicate expectations for student performance.• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students regarding academic performance and growth.• Differentiate instruction to support varied learning styles, abilities, and needs.

Qualifications• Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education with appropriate subject endorsements.• Meet all state certification and licensure requirements for the assigned teaching position.• Provide official transcripts of all academic credits earned and submit updated transcripts as required.
Working Conditions• Work is performed primarily in a classroom and school environment.• The position may require standing, walking, and moving throughout the classroom for extended periods.• Occasional lifting of instructional materials or equipment may be required.• The position may include supervision of students in various school settings including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and school events.

Position Description
District 211 seeks qualified educators to serve as Summer School Teachers. Summer school provides students with opportunities to recover credits, strengthen academic skills, and continue progressing toward graduation and postsecondary goals.
District 211 is committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences that reflect our district's curriculum, instructional expectations, and commitment to strong Tier 1 instruction.
