JOB SUMMARY
The Kiddy Music Instructor is responsible for creating and implementing music-based curriculum and leading children through a series of classes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ability to create and implement curriculum for children, specifically ages six months to three year
Must attend all classes, trainings and staff meetings
Ability to stand in an indoor classroom environment for up to two (2) hours
Must understand and work within the budget
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with participants, parents and staff
Facilitates classes that are interactive for both parents and children
Utilizes various musical styles when teaching
Encourages developmental learning through singing, dancing and the use of hand instruments
Knowledge of child development, including social and emotional, language/communication, and movement/physical development
Performs job safely and in accordance with the District's policies and regulations
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees
Demonstrates the ability to provide leadership
Organized, creative, flexible, and effective communication skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school degree or G.E.D. required
College degree in Music or related field preferred
Two or more years teaching experience preferred

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Art/Special Events Manager, the Pottery Instructor is responsible for creating and implementing Pottery-based curriculum and leading students through various lessons
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Create and implement specific pottery projects
Assist students with projects including set-up and clean up
Communicate effectively and professionally with participants, parents and staff
Work within a budget
Maintain and oversee inventory of supplies and report supply needs to the Arts/Special Events Manager
Perform the job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook
Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Safely operate kiln for regular firings
Safely operate and supervise the usage of the pottery wheels
Perform other duties as directed by the Art/Special Events Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrate the ability to provide leadership
Organized, creative, flexible, and effective communication skills
Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions
Experience operating pottery wheels
Experience operating kilns
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Three to five years of experience in the art field and/or teaching
College degree in Art or related field preferred
