AFTER SCHOOL JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Bendle Public Schools After School Position (contracted through GECS)
REPORTS TO: Director of the Program
WORK YEAR: School Year: Coincides with Bendle Public Schools Calendar
PAY: $9.45/hour based on education and experience
HOURS: 2:15-6:00 pm on regular school days
11:15-6:00 pm on half school days
QUALIFICATIONS: 19 Years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. Have experience working as a caregiver for school-age children preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide a variety of activities, structured and unstructured, that are age appropriate and enjoyable.
2. Monitor safety of children and be able to account for all children at all times.
3. Properly register and release a child.
4. Daily and weekly record keeping for each child including sign-in sheets and payments.
5. Supervise lunch and/or afternoon snack.
6. Room must be picked up, tables washed and everything left in an orderly fashion.
7. Communicate to Director about any special activities, questions or concerns.
8. Communicate with parents in regard to any special issues regarding their child.
9. Practice consistent and effective discipline as outlined in the policy stated in the childcare handbook.Communicate and display a positive and fair attitude toward each child.
10. Attend professional development training and staff meetings as required by licensing including but not limited to 1st Aid/CPR training, blood borne pathogens and seclusion & restraint.
11 Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the school and program.
12. Show interest and be involved in children’s activities.
13. Follow all school policies as written in the school code of conduct book
14. Follow all licensing protocols as designated by the State of Michigan.
15. Teach children responsibility, good manners and respect for each other and toys or equipment.
16. Other specifics to be determined by program Director and as needed for State Licensing.

Job Summary:
To care for the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of the Academy building, equipment and grounds. Status:Non-Exempt
Description of Duties:
Perform all custodial duties
Perform daily maintenance of Academy buildings and grounds
Lock and secure the building according to security protocol
Create and maintain cleaning schedules
Review and evaluate equipment, materials and supplies
Move and lift equipment, materials and supplies as needed
Ensure meeting rooms are set up in the evening for next day usage
Deliver and retrieve items from various outside locations and perform other errands as directed
Perform routine cleaning of equipment and minor repairs as needed
Maintain equipment
All other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Ability to spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, bending, climbing, operating medium weight cleaning equipment (such as floor buffers), sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and furniture
Ability to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items up to 75 pounds unassisted
Ability to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise
Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions
Employees should wear a back belt when lifting heavy objects
Qualifications:
Custodial experience
Criminal records clearance
Current driver’s license and transportation
High school diploma/GED
Behavior Expectations:
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed, controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment at the Academy.

Position Summary
Buffey Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities. Under the direction of certified, licensed and ancillary staff, the paraprofessional will assist with instructional activities, behavior support, and personal care as outlined in students’ individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities
Support instructional and classroom activities for students with disabilities.
Implement accommodations and modifications from students’ IEPs under staff guidance.
Participate in IEP Team meetings when requested.
Reinforce curriculum content and strategies alongside general and special education teachers.
Assist with note-taking, assignment support, and administering accommodations for assessments.
Provide feedback during behavior intervention planning and meetings.
Support behavior intervention plans by implementing interventions and collecting data.
Operate and assist with adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
Assist students with lifting, mobility, and positioning, as needed.
Provide support during meals, playtime, and other daily routines.
Address students’ personal care and health needs.
Maintain daily communication logs between home and school.
Ride the special education bus, if assigned, at the start and/or end of the school day.
Participate in required training and professional development.
Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality.
Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administrator.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with staff, students, and families.
Demonstrated physical and mental stamina for the demands of the position.
Must pass a LiveScan Criminal Records Check.
