POSITION SUMMARY:
The Adult Education Center in Hartford will operate its program from August 2015 through June 2016. Teachers provide classroom instruction in the Adult Education Center and/or satellite sites. Classes are offered in ESL and GED/ABE (English), ABE/GED (Spanish), NEDP and Citizenship. Hours range between 4 – 15.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday (a few classes meet on Saturday and/or Sunday at satellite locations). Classes meet at various locations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Salary and Terms of Employment: Part-time hourly rate in accordance with the Hartford Public School System salary schedule. No paid holidays, vacation or paid sick leave during this scheduled program period.

This summer school position is for Child Development Associates to work in a fully inclusive Pre-K along with a Special Education Teacher with students ages 3 & 4 who are typically developing and those with special education needs whose educational progress would be irreparably diminished, and for whom serious and/or educational harm would result if a summer program were not provided. Dates and times of employment are contingent on the individual school's summer program. School location will be determined based on student needs and enrollment.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
1. Minimum a Child Development Associate Certificate credential or an Associates Degree in Early Childhood development or the equivalent required.
2. Experience with Pre-k work or in a related field preferred.
3. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities is essential.
5. Develop and maintain favorable relationships with administration, staff and parents.
6. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills desirable.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Regular per-diem hourly rate based upon salary of individual selected. No holidays, vacation or sick leave during this scheduled program. POSITION SUMMARY:The Summer School/Early Start program position is for paraprofessionals who will support special education students whose educational progress would be irreparably diminished, and for whom serious regression and/or educational harm would result if an Early Start program is not provided. Dates and times of employment are contingent on individual schools. Students will have an approximate three and one-half hour daily program. School location will be determined based on student needs. Enrollment may change throughout the summer.
Salary and Terms of Employment: Candidates must work the full Early Start program with no deviation (no holidays, vacation, or sick leave during this scheduled program period). Pay rate is $19.45. Location and hours of employment are subject to change based on student enrollment.
