    Position Summary

    The Adult Basic Education (ABE) ESL Teacher provides English Language reading, writing, speaking, listening, and digital literacy instruction to adults 17 and older in accordance with ABE Content Standards; lesson planning for multiple levels; monitoring, adapting, and assessing student progress; assisting with intake; creating Individual Learning Plans; and collecting and recording attendance and all necessary information in a timely manner.

     Primary Duties:
    1. Teach ABE classes in accordance with Minnesota Department of Education Adult Basic Education Content Standards.
    2. Create and develop daily lesson plans for students, volunteers, and substitute teachers, and provide daily direction for volunteers, using ABE curriculum.
    3. Monitor and assist students in meeting their goals and making Measurable Skill Gains on assessments and adapt as necessary.
    4. Integrate digital literacy into lessons as appropriate.
    5. Utilize state-approved distance learning platforms, assign lessons and homework, and integrate into regular instruction.
    6. Teach individuals who have a wide range of first languages and formal education levels.
    7. Collect, record and report student information in a timely manner.
    8. Initiate and engage in regular, weekly student outreach and retention.
    9. Communicate with students regarding any schedule changes.
    10. Collaborate in a professional manner with ABE staff and volunteers to ensure that student and program needs and goals are met.
    11. Assist ABE Manager with MDE and other reporting requirements related to instruction.
    12. Participate in staff meetings and Professional Learning Communities as requested.
    13. Participate in ABE professional development as assigned.
    14. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    1. Certified (license required): Current MN teaching license or a bachelor's or master's degree in English as a second language, applied linguistics, or bilingual education, or a related degree as approved by the commissioner, per Minnesota State Statute 122A.26.
    2. Bachelor’s Degree
    3. Experience teaching Adult English Language Learners
    4. Knowledge of ABE content standards, teaching practices, and challenges, as well as an understanding of adult learning and the unique needs of adult learners preferred

     Arrive prior to facility users and ensure that user facility equipment needs set up and are being met throughout use;
     Review building expectations with user group coordinator;

    The Farmington Competition Cheer Team has an opening for highly qualified candidate to serve as a Team and/or recreational coach. Position will require performing all duties involved in coaching the team, including organizing practices, building positive team culture, attending all competitions/events, and attending professional development trainings.  The season begins in August and ends in January.  Practices range from 1-10 hours per week, with approximately 6-8 competitions on weekends.  Must be high energy and have experience working with youth.  Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain USA Cheer certification, first aid/CPR certification, concussion management training and other safety skill training as requested by FCCT Director.     Coach. This person will oversee the gymnastics and preschool recreational programs offered through Twist ‘N’ Tumble.

    Primary Duties:

     
    •  Implement program curriculums (Ninja and Gymnastics Recreation) with the approval of the TNT Supervisor.
    • Facilitate the first week of each ninja and gymnastics recreational session, by assisting parents/staff/ninjas/gymnasts in finding their classes, answering questions and providing quality customer service.
    • Speak to parents regarding their child’s progression, and communicate with youth enrichment administrative assistant regarding child’s class levels.
    • Conduct youth assessments as needed, update on My Skills Chart. Communicate with TNT Supervisor regarding dates and times of assessments.
    •  Coach ninja and gymnastics recreational classes throughout the week, when needed.

    Description:

     

    The summer session is designed to offer enrichment in reading, writing and math.  This year's session consists of four weeks, two in June and two in early August.  Invited students are in grades 6-8 for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Boeckman Middle School will host students from both Boeckman and Dodge Middle Schools.
    DATES:
    June 16-20 (3 days only, No School on June 19)
    June 23-26
    August 4-7
     August 11-14.  
    8am-12pm each day

    Teachers receive 4 hours of prep leading up to the start of the program in June. Teachers receive an additional 10 minutes for each 60 minutes of instructional time. The overall number of teaching staff will be dependent on the final enrollment of the program. 

     

    Qualifications:
    *  Valid MN teaching license at middle level
    *  prefer experiene with multilingual (EL) learners

     

    *  Must work well with middle school level students

     

    *  Must have strong desire and skills to help struggling students

     

    *  Must be organized

     

    *  Good human relation skills

     

    Desired Qualifications:

     

    *  Self-starter

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    *  Provide instruction on math, reading and social skills to students in District 192.

     

    *  Develops and uses instructional material suitable for a wide range of learning styles.

     

    *  Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs.

     

    *  Establishes and maintains standards of student and classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities without interfering with the atmosphere of class.

     

    *  Record and/or monitor the attendance of students in the program.

     

    *  Creates a safe and positive environment for effective learning.

     

    *  Evaluates academic and social growth of students and keeps appropriate records and assessment data.
