    QUALIFICATIONS: 
    Required
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 2 years post-secondary education – Electronics/Information Technology related field
    • 3 years’ experience  in related areas
    • Knowledge of and experience working with software, computer networks, telecommunications, phone, security systems and surveillance systems. (e.g. Windows Operating Systems, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL, Active Directory, Scripting, Imaging, Linux)
    • Knowledge and experience with digital camera and security systems
    Preferred
    • Experience in technical design, engineering and configuration
    • Ability to maintain data and to generate reports to support the work of the program
    • Power Limited technician (PLT) licensure, experience in structured cabling design configuration and traditional building intercom systems troubleshooting and design enhancement

    Excellent organization and project management skills; strong communication skills including writing, speaking and listening; ability to work with diverse groups; skill in team building and collaboration with a demonstrated ability to involve others in work and to inform others of processes, decisions and events; knowledge and understanding of technical design, engineering and configuration techniques.
     
    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The District Support Technician, Level 2 is responsible for assisting the School District in the design, development, installation, and maintenance of networks, telecommunications, computers, and other electronic equipment.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    • Plans, designs, and installs technical and electronic systems such as telecommunications systems, computer networks, telephone systems, video surveillance systems, teleconferencing that includes ITV, cable TV systems, and electronic interfaces
    • Provide support and direction to Level 1 technicians as needed
    • Plans and conducts training sessions as needed
    • Knowledge in the function and design of relational data bases, SIF, and various information systems
    • Network system knowledge to include programming and configuration of routers, knowledge of various server operating systems, intrusion protection, system back-up, disaster recovery, firewalls, filtering systems, fiber optics, and network switches
    • Engineering, installation, and implementation of LAN/WAN equipment including knowledge of the district fiber plant and wireless networking
    • Maintains an inventory of parts, repair, and job records; checks the operating quality of equipment to ensure that it is working properly upon delivery
    • Provides information to the Supervisor of IT and Network Administrator and Executive Director of Technology & District Support Services; updates department as appropriate on daily activities for department organization and job/project routing and maintenance
    • Other duties as assigned
