Position Title: Head Middle School Volleyball Coach
Season begin date: September 2025
Season end date: October 2025
Salary: $2,586.00 - $3,000.00 DOE
Benefits: This position is not eligible for health or retirement benefits
Reports to: Athletic Director
Location: Kalama, WA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work in collaboration with the high school volleyball coach(es)
Coordinate and oversee the selection of uniforms, practice sessions, workshops, and other activities which the athletic director deems necessary for the program.
Implement and maintain team rules/guidelines for consistent compliance of discipline.
Conduct and supervise all practices
Ongoing and regular communication with student athletes and parents regarding the program vision, philosophy, schedule, and all important program information.
Supervise student athletes before, during, and after practices and games
Partner with the athletic director and varsity coach(es) to provide an excellent and meaningful student athlete experience.
Provides instruction to students in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport
Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities/exercises
Assess students' skills, monitors students during competition and practice
Follow established procedures in the event of an injury
Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials and spectators
Maintain a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times
Participate in special activities to include parent's night, banquets and award nights
Perform support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records
Model non discriminatory practices in all activities
Must complete my247 and all WIAA trainings through FinalForms and SafeSchools through the district prior to the beginning of the sport's season
Supervises and maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security
Distributes and collects equipment, supplies and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach

High School diploma or GED
Per WIAA - minimum age for head coach is 21 years of age, assistant coach is 19 years of age
Previous Coaching experience preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travels to other school district buildings as required.
