    Position Description: 
     
    Oversee, monitor, maintain install and support computer systems and peripheral equipment; provides profession-level network support functions, and assists faculty, staff and students in an academic environment. 
     
    General Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Provides technical support, training and assistance to students, faculty and staff.  Analyzes problems and implements solutions according to Department guidelines and procedures.
    2. Knowledge of basic networking concepts, devices and security.
    3. Performs computer trouble-shooting to diagnose system problems; analyzes hardware and software functionality; identifies, locates, resolves and repairs problems within scope of authority; documents work orders and results.
    4. Resolves configuration and connectivity issues.
    5. Maintains and updates workstations.  Uses imaging software to create and deploy desktop computers as directed.
    6. Enrolls students, faculty and staff in applications.
    7. Responds to needs of students, faculty and staff; deploys solutions and follows up with users to assure the stability and functionality of the user’s systems.
    8. Reports technical problems which need to be addressed to MIS Director.
    9. Provides technical support to students and instructors to assist in the training of students, faculty, and staff on software application usage.  Facilitates one-on-one instruction as needed.
    10. Maintain building inventory, tag and register all equipment.
    11. Maintain accurate records of repair/maintenance work performed within the district.
    Skills:
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel between buildings. 
    • Be able to work independently in solving and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. 
    • Maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials.
    • Communicate between building staff, IT department and students. 
    • Effectively utilize organization and planning skills.
    • Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs. Subject to standing walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.   
    Knowledge:  Required: High school diploma or equivalent.  Preferred: Associate’s degree in computer science or 1 year of work experience supporting a networked environment.
