The JROTC POI provides both required and elective class material that will instill in students in secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment through leadership positions and extracurricular activities.

Under general supervision, performs maintenance and repairs involving the electrical systems in district facilities. Work involves locating and replacing electrical system malfunctions in district facilities.

Work is conducted in a school health room and/or classroom environment with exposure to discomforting and potentially dangerous conditions such as diseases, medications, and blood/body fluid exposure and frequent contact with ill students. Limited travel is required.

Under general supervision facilitates the development of Individualized Educational Programs (IEP’s) and instructs academic and/or living skills to students who have been identified as having disabilities under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). Assists in other school and district programs as assigned.
Supervises students in classrooms and other situations. Responsible for maintenance and inventory of equipment; responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions. Indirectly provides supervision to instructional assistants as assigned.
Conducts duties in a classroom or office environment with no significant exposure to environmental factors. May be exposed to noise from students, bodily fluids, and the possibility of injury from a violent or impaired student. Requires constant attention and repetition associated with working with disabled students. Physical demands are most often restricted to classroom work requiring occasional lifting/moving of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds; however, occasional positioning, moving and/or lifting students weighing up to two hundred pounds may be required. Under close supervision of the transportation supervisor and the bus driver, provides assistance to promote safety of students being transported. Assists students in getting on and off the bus.

Physical demands are related to the operation of a wheelchair lift and the lifting of disabled students generally weighing up to seventy-five pounds onto and off of the bus. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as furniture or boxes of materials.
Work is conducted primarily on a school bus where one is required to ride in varying weather conditions with exposure to elements such as heat, cold, rain, humidity, etc. At times travel occurs on roads in poor condition. Necessitates constant attention to the supervision of children. Routine local travel is required in the transporting of students to and from school; no overnight travel is required.

Under general supervision of the transportation supervisor, operates a school bus in accordance with all state laws and regulations to transport students to and from school facilities. Is responsible for maintaining discipline of students being transported.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT/JOB REQUIREMENT:
Must maintain a passing score on a Physical Performance Test, as mandated by the State Department of Education, to maintain employment to include:
Going up and down the school bus steps rapidly (3 times within 30 seconds)
Move rapidly through the interior of the bus (from seat belted position to rear exit within 20 seconds)
Drag 125 pound objects (30 feet in 30 seconds)
Work is conducted primarily on a school bus where one is required to drive in varying weather conditions with exposure to elements such as heat, cold, rain, humidity, etc. May require driving on roads in poor condition. Involves duties which require constant attention and awareness. Physical demands are related to the operation of a school bus, operation of a handbrake and other controls, and maintain cleanliness of equipment. Routine local travel is required to transport students to and from school; no overnight travel is required.
