Per Faith's Law (P.A. 102-702), public and non-public Illinois school districts are required to conduct an Employment History Review for all employees, contractors, substitutes, and all those with direct contact with students who are hired on or after July 1, 2023. The Employee History Review of prior employers is to determine if they have been the subject of a sexual misconduct allegation, been discharged, been asked to resign, or were disciplined due to an adjudication or finding of sexual misconduct. Applicants who are offered a position will be required to affirm that they are not disqualified from employment for these reasons and to authorize this review.
