This is an ongoing process in knowledge-based work, because the knowledge base is constantly changing. it could be learning about new equipment, new ways of doing things, or learning who are the people you need to know to get the job done;
 
• Ethics and Responsibility: This is required to build trust (particularly important in informal social networks), in a world where there are many different players, and a greater degree of reliance on others to accomplish one’s own goals;
 
• Teamwork and Flexibility: This depends heavily on collaboration and the sharing of knowledge with others in related but independent organizations. Teachers need to know how to work collaboratively, virtually and at a distance, with colleagues, students and partners. • Digital Skills: Most knowledge-based activities depend heavily on the use of technology. These skills need to be embedded within the knowledge domain in which the activity takes place. Thus, the use of digital technology needs to be integrated with and evaluated through the knowledge-base of the subject area incorporating digital skills to analyze, evaluate and interpret as required.
 
• Knowledge Management: Knowledge is not only rapidly changing with new research, new developments, and rapid dissemination of ideas and practices over the internet, but the sources of information are increasing, with a great deal of variability in the reliability or validity of the information. The key skill in a knowledge-based society is knowledge management: how to find, evaluate, analyze, apply and disseminate information, within a particular context.

1. Implement Individual Education Plan objectives through classroom activities including small group, individual and large group lessons
2. Develop and implement behavior management plans for students as needed
3. Develop schedules and lesson plans for classroom day allowing for a variety of activities and special events appropriate for student lEP goals
4. Communicate progress to parents and other school personnel in compliance with state and program policies and procedures
5. Conduct preliminary and ongoing evaluations of student levels and needs through formal and informal means
6. Elicit input from parents, caseworkers, and others involved in student program development
7. Design appropriate goals and objectives for student lEPs based on evaluations and staff and parent input
8. Adjust lEPs as needed based on documentation of progress, or problems indicating the need for adjustment of original goals and objectives
9. Work cooperatively to develop programming and evaluation through disciplinary teaming approach
10. Conduct lEP parent conferences as necessary to fulfill program objectives for participation in special education programming for students with disabilities.
11. Provide direction and training to instructor assistants and/or volunteers assigned to the classroom

There is a Vocal Music Teacher position open at Mansfield Senior High School for the 2025-2026 school year.  The position also serves Mansfield Middle School.

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' understanding, appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genre, periods and styles. To identify, promote and develop each student's talents in vocal expression. To utilize the keyboard as a tool for teaching including accompanying ability. Knowledgale of teaching vocal techniques to high school and middle school students. 

Essential Functions
 
• Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
• Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate.
• Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom
• Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during practice, rehearsal and performances.
• Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
• Selects and requisitions appropriate music supplies and instrumental equipment, maintains inventory records, and ensures equipment is in good working order.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.

and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to

QUALIFICATIONS:
The school bus driver should have an understanding of the role of student transportation in the educational program, and meet all the physical, mental, and moral requirements established by State laws and regulations, and local board of education policies:
 
1. Have a good driving record (5 years).
2. Be of legal age (Section 3327.10 of the Revised Code).
3. Be physically qualified (Rule 3301-83-07).
4. Have an annual driver record check (Rule 3301-83-07 of the Administrative Code).
5. Must hold a valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License with Class B, School Bus, and Passenger endorsement.
6. Participate in pre-service and in-service training programs (Rule 3301-83-10 of the Administrative Code).
7. Have the physical capability to appropriately lift and manage handicapped students when necessary.
8. Possess the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to handicapped students.
9. Participate in in-service training programs related to transportation of the handicapped.
10. A favorable report from the State Bureau of Criminal Identification and The Federal Bureau of Investigation must be required every 6 years.
11. Ability to pass Ohio school bus recertification every 6 years.
12. Ability to pass a substance screening test at random.
 
JOB OBJECTIVE(S):
To provide safe and efficient transportation so students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage of the district's curriculum and extracurricular programs.
 
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: Transportation Supervisor
 
DUTIES/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Obey all traffic laws (State and Local).
2. Observe all mandatory safety laws and regulations for school buses.
3. Maintain discipline while students are on the bus.
4. Report any discipline problems to the proper authority on the district conduct report form.
5. Keep assigned bus clean and fueled.
6. Maintain assigned schedule unless changed by the Supervisor of Transportation.
7. Check bus before each trip for mechanical defects as outlined by Ohio Revised Code Section 3301-83-11, Section (B).
8. Notify the proper authority (Supervisor of Transportation) in case of mechanical failure or unusual delay.
9. Discharge students only at authorized stops.
10. Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips by working with teachers and chaperones assigned to bus.
11. Transport only authorized students and/or adults.
12. Report all accidents and complete required reports.
13. Enforce all school bus regulations as to safe riding practices.
14. Follow established procedures in the event of a medical emergency.
15. Abide by the Mansfield City Board of Education policies and regulations.
16. Perform other reasonably related duties as may be assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
 
The work schedule for this position is 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M., and 2:15 P.M. to 4:15 P.M. This position is approximately four hours.  All applicants are required to complete pre-employment screenings at their expense..

There are Substitute Custodian positions available for Mansfield City Schools.  The successful applicants will serve district buildings as assigned by the Facilities Manager.   The following description includes tasks that may be required of a substitute under the direction of the building head custodian.

Position Function:
Performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary.

Performs related duties and general maintenance work as required.

Essential Functions:
• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for the purpose of ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the building.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas of building according to school district standards.
• Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.
• Removes graffiti, cleans glass areas.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and functional rooms.
• Clears snow from entrances and walks, and spreads sand and ice melting chemicals.
• Performs grounds-keeping duties, clears debris and maintains grounds.
• Receives deliveries and assists in unloading trucks and storing supplies.
• Delivers supplies and materials to classrooms, bathrooms and other areas of the building.
• Empties wastebaskets; picks up and removes trash and assists in recycling program.
Additional Duties:              
• Performs general cleaning, and repair work, particularly during school vacations.
• Assists parents and other visitors to school buildings with special events and programs.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Equipment

Qualifications Profile:
• Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

There are Safety Specialist positions available for Mansfield City Schools.  These are 10-month positions and the supervisor is the building principal. 
Summary:
Performs a variety of activities that include but are not limited to monitoring student behavior while providing direction and maintaining order in school’s corridors and all areas of the building and grounds.
The role of School Safety Specialist shall focus on ensuring the safety of teachers, students, and other staff in the Mansfield City Schools.  The School Safety Specialist works with school administrators, local law enforcement and the School Resource Officer (SRO) to implement preventative programs for student related behavior issues.  They should be comfortable with exercising authority, enforcing strict rules, and managing student noncompliance issues. The School Safety Specialist may be exposed to bodily fluids and stressful situations while exercising emotional and physical control of oneself.

Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Trained or willingness to be trained in crisis intervention techniques (Handle With Care).
3. Demonstrated experience in a position requiring the use of independent judgement and discretion.
4. Willing to be flexible in the position and hours worked beyond the normal work day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work with students assigned relative to the use of student passes. Excusing only those students who have proper passes issued by the attendance office.
2. Monitor student behavior, providing direction.
3. Assist in monitoring and supervising all areas of the building and grounds including the cafeteria.  Also, assist in monitoring and supervising after-school activities as assigned.
4. Report to and work with the school administration relative to student behavior problems.
5. Participate in inservice training programs as assigned and as required.

School Bus Driver
 
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, to ensure the safe transportation of students, staff, and others to and from school, residential neighborhoods, and field trips.

Essential Functions:
• Safely drives a school bus on days when school is in session over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, loading and unloading students at designated locations.
• Transports students, teachers and others on school field or activity trips.
• Inspects assigned bus on a daily basis prior to transporting of passengers to ensure that bus is in good, clean and safe working order.
• Cleans and refuels bus as needed.
• Ensures that a communication device is in proper working order before each trip.
• Reports all mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents, promptly.
• Arranges for and ensures completion of routine maintenance of bus (e.g., oil change); transporting the bus to and from maintenance and/or repair facilities.
• Maintains order and discipline in an effective and courteous manner among students being transported in accordance with district policies and procedures; reports any incidents involving student discipline.
• Observes and tracks route timing, such as total time en-route, time between stops, loading and unloading times or any other requested information for the purpose of establishing route efficiency, as requested.
• Maintains and submits records and reports as required.
• Follows procedures to ensure that no child is left alone on bus without adult supervision at any time, and that all children have departed bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening and during field trips or other special trips).
• Inventories bus emergency and first aid supplies and equipment; reports needs to the Director.
• Prepares aides and children for bus drills and ensures bus evacuation drills are held as required.
• In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuates children according to written and practiced procedures, ensures that medical emergency procedures are followed; completes a written report as required.
• Attends and participates in trainings, and other continuing education, career and professional development opportunities.
 Qualifications Profile
 
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
 Certification/License:
• Motor Vehicle Operator's (DMV) License.
• Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL), class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement.
 Education:
• High School Diploma or GED.
 Experience:
• Successful prior experience working as a bus driver, preferably in a school district or transporting children a plus. 
Employees must work at least 20 hours per week on a regular basis to qualify for health insurance benefits.


Additional Duties
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor..
