POSITION OVERVIEW: The Program Administrator provides leadership, oversight, and direction for assigned MAWSECO programs, ensuring high-quality educational services that meet the diverse needs of students. This position is responsible for creating an equitable school culture and climate that promotes student success and staff engagement. The Program Administrator supervises cooperative staff, coordinates program operations, and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as district policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Leadership and Oversight: Plan, organize, and manage daily operations and activities within assigned programs. Evaluate the effectiveness of existing educational programs and lead efforts to revise and develop new programs aligned with student needs and cooperative goals.
Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise and evaluate cooperative staff, providing feedback and professional development to ensure the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices, assessments, and curriculum. Conduct classroom walkthroughs, offer ongoing feedback, and meet with staff to foster reflection and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Accountability: Ensure that all educational services comply with federal, state, and district regulations. Maintain accurate educational records and prepare required reports.
Resource Management: Allocate program resources effectively and efficiently to maximize impact. Develop and manage program budgets in alignment with district goals.
Curriculum and Program Development: Provide guidance and consultation to staff on curriculum development, instructional practices, and program planning. Lead staff meetings and deliver professional development to support high standards of teaching and learning.
Staffing and Scheduling: Organize staff schedules and coordinate the school calendar to meet state and district guidelines. Collaborate with administrative support to adjust staffing allocations as needed.
Collaboration and Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with residential program staff, community partners, and other stakeholders. Attend staffings and meetings to ensure coordinated service delivery.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging and facilitating action on new ideas that advance MAWSECO’s mission and vision.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Floating Special Education Teacher is a licensed special education teacher that reports every day, but is not assigned to a permanent classroom/program. This position is responsible for filling in where most needed in MAWSECO’s eight alternative programs as determined by the direct supervisor or designee. This could include long term substitute work if needed during the school year. This position will mainly work in a teaching position, but may also be assigned, on occasion and if needed, as a paraprofessional, administrative assistant, or other educational support.

Students coming to Cornerstones are first assessed by the Nystrom and Associates staff to determine the level of services needed. Nystrom and Associates staff develop a treatment plan for Cornerstones school and mental health services and social skills training provided by Nystrom and Associates. Nystrom and Associates services are provided during the school day, but are not part of school programming.
ABOUT EASTERN WRIGHT: The Eastern Wright Program is an intermediate (grades 6-8) combination skills and educational program. It is located in the Wright Technical Center in Buffalo, MN. All youth attending come from surrounding communities and have been identified with emotional and/or behavioral disorders or have significant behavior concerns. The primary goal of the program is to provide social skills and educational support to reduce stress and acquire skills in the emotional, behavioral, social and academic areas and return to the mainstream school as soon as possible. The Eastern-Wright Program and its team members believe that by working together, we will be able to positively influence students in our program.
ABOUT JOURNEYS: The Journeys program is located at the MAWSECO Education Center in Howard Lake and serves children with behavioral needs in grades K-4. POSITION OVERVIEW: The School Psychologist is responsible for conducting diagnostic assessments and evaluations to determine special education eligibility and collaborates with all key individuals to determine eligibility and level of service need. The School psychologist provides direct and/or indirect support and interventions to students, consults with teachers, families, and other school-employed professionals to improve support strategies, works with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborates with community providers to coordinate needed services. Through their work, school psychologists help MAWSECO member districts successfully implement a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework in order to: improve academic achievement, promote positive behavior and mental health, support diverse learners, create safe, positive school climates, strengthen family-school partnerships, improve school-wide assessment and accountability, and monitor individual student progress in academics and behavior.

POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the general supervision of the Special Education Supervisor, Occupational Therapists (OT) will lead the process in the development, implementation, and coordination of the school district's occupational therapy program for students with disabilities or physical/mental impairments. This will be done through development of individualized programming based on occupational performance deficits in activities of daily living, including: personal care, interaction skills, community integration, work, and communication.

ABOUT WINGS: The Wings Alternative Program, located in Litchfield, MN is a residential treatment center for chemical dependency. The program serves male and female adolescents ages 14 years and older from throughout Minnesota and from other states. MAWSECO staff members provide educational services to students attending this program.
