    We’re seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Principal for our therapeutic day school in Phoenix, AZ.  

    • This is a newly created, full-time, permanent position.
    • General Hours 8-3:30 M-F, following a school calendar
    • 10-month school year
    The curriculum is taught with an engaged learning methodology that nurtures academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. Our educational model encourages the development of academic and social-emotional skills in a positive and well-structured learning environment, with a focus on preparation for postsecondary education, employment, and citizenship.

    • Drive change by working alongside staff and students to improve academic and behavioral achievement and support the overall learning environment.
    • Support the school-wide initiatives that focus on teacher development, implementation of PBIS, and the transition to the Common Core Standards. 
    • Work in collaboration with the Administrator to support the daily responsibilities of the program and assist with the supervision and outcomes of all aspects of programming
    • Build high performing teams that work within the program model, provide professional development and effectively supervise staff in order to improve student learning and academic achievement. 
    • Maintain excellent communication to build and maintain positive relationships with parents, districts, and community on a regular basis. 
    • Take the lead in crisis situations. 
    • Required: Arizona Standard Professional Special Education Teacher Certification K-12
    • Required: Arizona Standard Professional Principal Certification  
    • This position requires a strong knowledge of students with disabilities 
    • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
    • IEP expertise is preferred
    • Acute attention to detail
    • Knowledge of Common Core Standards  
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively
    • Exceptional problem-solving, critical-thinking, and strategic planning skills
    • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently
    • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and take initiative
    • Ability to learn quickly and to be effective in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team focused environment
