    Job Summary (2-3 sentences describing job purpose):  Oversees surplus equipment and furniture and the movement of those assets, and other assets, throughout the district.  Oversees the mail services operation.  Supervises the work of 33 people.

    Primary Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesList, in the order of importance or time spent, the essential duties/tasks performed by the position.  This is not an exhaustive list and employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required.  
    Job Duty/Resp. 1:  Responsible for the logistical planning and execution of school moves.
    Job Duty/Resp. 2:  Responsible for the logistical planning and routing of trucks and delivery schedules.
    Job Duty/Resp. 3:  Develops policies and procedures to insure efficient warehouse and distribution operations.
    Job Duty/Resp. 4:  Maintains open communications with schools and departments throughout the district.
    Job Duty/Resp. 5:  Manages and controls inventory assets.
    Job Duty/Resp. 6:  Manages a team of 33 employees at the Foster Creighton warehouse.
    Job Duty/Resp. 7:  Manages temporary employees at various times, with up to 40 part-time employees.
    Job Duty/Resp. 8:  Coordinates the removal of MNPS assets that will be disposed of through Metro government.





















     
     
    Education and Experience Requirements

    Experience Requirements: 10 years of warehouse experience is required; experience in inventory management is required; experience in logistics and supply chain management is required; experience managing employees and leading teams is required.
     
    Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required: Valid Tennessee Driver’s License is required; Industry certifications are desired, but not required.

    Level 5: Requires management level responsibility for application and interpretation of the policies regarding the provision of continuous enforcement of the laws and standards of public health and safety.

     
    Text Box: Kronos Set Up Data:  Meal Deduction  Most Bransford office and district level employee have a meal deduction.  They are scheduled 8.5 hours per day and get an hour lunch. Itinerants and retirees get a 30 minute lunch period and therefore do not have a meal deduction. All school based employees will not have a meal deduction.   Auto Meal Deduction  Travel  Itinerant non-exempt employees who travel will be using the time clock differently than others and are paid for travel time between work locations.    Employee does not or seldom travels  Compensatory Time vs. Overtime (Support Non-Exempt Employees only)  Does this department have overtime budgeted, i.e. Maintenance, Transportation, Food Service.  If not, employees accrue comp time only.   Exempt Employee - can not accrue comp or overtime   Restrictions  Should employee be restricted to punch in and out within 7 minutes of their schedule start and end times?   No, Do not restrict punches   Employee Type  Clock, phone, supervisor, etc.  Supervisor  Timekeeper  Is the employee a timekeeper?    No

    Level 6: Requires medium work involving standing or walking all of the time, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular basis, and considerable dexterity and skill in operating machinery and tools.
