Job Summary (2-3 sentences describing job purpose): Responsible for improving the effectiveness of the EL program by leading and monitoring the district’s implementation of the English language proficiency standards, instruction, and assessment. Provides leadership and direction for the district’s annual language assessment, monitoring practices, Individual Learning Plans, and analyzes data annual assessment data to make recommendations for system improvement.

|Job Duty/Resp. 1: ||Leads and monitors the district’s implementation of the language proficiency standards, initial language assessment for newly enrolling students, and annual assessment of all active ELs. |
|Job Duty/Resp. 2: ||Develops action plans with specific projects and goals, objectives and desired outcomes for EL instructional programing and school service models; communicates work expectations and deadlines with clear direction; and institutes monitoring of EL practices district-wide |
|Job Duty/Resp. 3: ||Leads and implements the district’s monitoring practices for current EL students, including opt-out ELs, and former EL students who have transitioned from EL program services |
|Job Duty/Resp. 4: ||Oversees implementation and monitoring of Individual Learning Plans for all English Learners. |
|Job Duty/Resp. 5: ||Collects, monitors, and analyzes EL data, both periodically and longitudinally, on ELs’ acquisition of English proficiency and mastery of grade-level content to assist in evaluating the effectiveness the district’s EL program. |
|Job Duty/Resp. 6: ||Develops metrics to measure teacher and students outcomes and incorporate process improvements for immediately addressing deficiencies |

Education and Experience Requirements
(training/degree): Required minimum: Master’s Degree Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related area of study. Experience Requirements:

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Relates and interacts positively with teachers, other staff, students, administrators, central office personnel, parents, and the general public; Communicates effectively in written and oral form; possesses excellent public speaking abilities; Demonstrated proficiency in a teacher leadership role (i.e., departmental/grade level chairperson, school leadership team member, etc.); Evidence of effective leadership skills; Demonstrated competency in adult learning theory and developing and leading professional learning opportunities for instructional staff and parents.
