    REPORTS TO:    School Principal
    DEPARTMENT NAME:   Teaching and Learning
    JOB SUMMARY (2-3 sentences): Connects STEAM education with real world examples to bridge theory with practice.  Makes learning relevant through an interdisciplinary approach to STEAM education. 
     
    PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:  List, in the order of time spent, the essential tasks performed by the position.  Employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required.
               
    Job Responsibility 1: Creates a student-centered, academic environment in which teaching and learning occur at high levels and students are self-directed learners.
    Job Responsibility 2: Assesses student learning and integrates teaching strategies based on “Understanding By Design” and “Project-Based Learning” teaching practices.
    Job Responsibility 3: Sponsors and/or coaches competitive teams, i.e. science, math, robotics.
    Job Responsibility 4: Challenges and supports student learning by providing differentiated instruction that addresses individual learning differences.
    Job Responsibility 5: Systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses data to measure student progress, to inform instructional content and delivery methods, and to provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
    Job Responsibility 6: Collaborates with other teachers, especially in math and science, in a professional learning community.
    Job Responsibility 7: Partners with community and business partners to enhance course curriculum and student learning experiences.
    Job Responsibility 8: Provides additional student academic support before, during, and after school.
      
     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS  
     
    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: “Education Requirements” refers to job specific training and education required for entry into the position.
     
    Bachelor degree in area of special or general education required.  Master’s degree preferred.
     
    LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: “Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations” refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.
     
    Requires current Tennessee Teachers License.
     
    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: “Experience Requirements” refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position.
     
    Three years’ teaching experience required.
