We are looking for one spring Unified Sports Coach per elementary school. The Unified Sports Coach will be responsible for recruiting athletes and partners to play soccer for at least 6 weeks. Additionally, the coach will be responsible for scheduling practices and creating a schedule to share with parents on the first day. At the end of the season, each of the teams will participate in a culminating event/competition to be held at Masuk High School. The coach will be responsible for communicating this information to the players, the partners, and the families. The Coach will work under the direction of the building principal. First Aid and CPR is required. Previous work experience with children in K-5 is required. Kinowledgge of soccer is required
The weeks for the program will be April 7, April 21, April 28, May 5, and May 12 with one practice session per week. The cumulting event being the week of May 19-23.
Long-Term Substitute - English Teacher (Grades 9-12)
Masuk High School Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, foster communication skills, develop an understanding and appreciation of literature of all types, motivate students to read a wide variety of publications to derive information, comprehend and critically assess the reading materials, and to promote the development of skills in the field of English reading, grammar and syntax. Essential Functions
Develops and administers English education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
Teaches knowledge and skills in English grammar and syntax, sentence and paragraph structure, composition, vocabulary and proper word usage, word denotations and connotations, creative writing, independent thinking, communication and speaking.
Develops standards for critical analysis through group discussions on a variety of reading materials, including the mass media, and a wide range of literature.
Works with students and others to prepare materials for inclusion in literary publications, contests, etc.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
Maintains familiarity with district and Connecticut State standardized tests for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such tests.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Encourages parental involvement in students education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

TITLE: Maintenance I Stepney Elementary
Position Function:
Works under the direct supervision of the Principal, Director of Operations, Manager of Buildings and Grounds, and Maintenance Supervisor.
Performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; and provides cleaning and maintenance assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary.
Performs related duties as required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Opens and/or closes the building, according to the daily schedule.
Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas, neat, clean and safe at all times.
Sweeps, scrubs, washes, mops, dusts and otherwise cleans all areas within school facilities.
Refinishes and seals floors. Vacuums and shampoos carpets.
Requests cleaning supplies before existing supplies are depleted.
Stores supplies and equipment in a neat and safe manner.
Sets up chairs, tables and other equipment for school performances and events.
Does emergency clean-up resulting from breakage, vandalism, spillage or illness.
Safely operates a variety of equipment, including but not limited to, floor machines, landscaping equipment, snow removal equipment, etc.
Accepts deliveries from vendors. Verifies contents of shipment received and forwards paperwork to the school office.
Attends training sessions as assigned.
Removes snow and dispenses ice-melt as needed.
Responds to emergency situations in school buildings, such as power failure, plumbing, heating, and/or vandalism.
Performs maintenance which includes, but is not limited to, assembling furniture, painting, hanging pictures and other items, and replacement of light bulbs, as required.
Assists with summer building and grounds maintenance, including but not limited to, lawn mowing, assembling furniture, light repair, cleaning of rooms and furniture, and stripping and waxing of floors.
Assists parents and other visitors to school buildings with special events and programs.
Performs other related tasks as directed by supervisors.
Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including, but not limited to, brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow blowers, shovels, grounds equipment and hand tools.

SAT Reading & Writing Teacher
English instructor needed for winter SAT evening classes at Masuk. Classes will begin mid-February and last four weeks. Classes will be held Tuesday evenings for 2 hours. If inclement weather occurs, classes will be held through Google Meet. Familiarity with the newly designed SAT is required.
$100/hour: $800 for the entire series of courses
