Job Summary: Supports students through the customer service line, seating in the cafeteria and dismissal from the lunchroom tables as they complete their meal. Assists with the maintenance of the cafeteria area in order to comply with federal, state, local and department requirements. Communicates promptly and works harmoniously with the students and staff.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma and/or equivalent; and/or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above described duties.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a food service industry
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Complete understanding of departmental requirements.
Ability to communicate in a timely manner.
Ability to accept direction from multiple sources.
Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and school employees.
Assists in preparation and serving of nutritious meals to customers. Handles the point of sale operation for the Breakfast and Lunch customer service lines. Assists with the cleaning and maintenance of the food service facility and equipment. Communicates promptly and works harmoniously with the Head Cook, FNS Staff, Students and District Staff.
Position requires repeated bending, stooping and constant repetitive use of fingers, hands and wrists in moving pans horizontally.
Position requires lifting of pans and food containers which will weigh up to 50 pounds (includes food items) and may have to be lifted in a range over shoulder height to below the knee level.
Position requires raising objects from a lower to higher position or moving and balancing objects horizontally from position-to-position.
Position involves extended periods of time on feet.
Position requires moderate use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Position requires moderate effort on a consistent basis as in lifting, pulling or pushing unwieldy loads (heavy, bulky, awkward, more than 40 pounds).
Complete range of motion is required.
