    The Highland Local School District has an opening for one (1) Transportation & Maintenance Department Office Aide. The position will be for 189 days per school year, 5 hours per day, 12 Noon – 5:00 PM.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. Computer knowledge in working with Microsoft Office and PowerSchool, office experience, a strong work ethic, flexibility, positive interactive abilities with co-workers and parents and a total understanding and acceptance of the rules of confidentiality are necessary to be successful in this position. This person will also need to obtain background checks and a certificate from the State of Ohio to serve as an aide.

    JOB DUTIES:
    • Provide clerical support in the Transportation & Maintenance Office
    • Answer all phone calls and respond to parent concerns and complaints, late buses, etc.
    • Daily use of bus radio to communicate with bus drivers
    • Work closely with bus mechanics
    • Assist with transportation and maintenance purchase orders
    • Receive maintenance calls and forward concerns and problems to Maintenance Supervisor
    • Respond to building administrators to assist with daily bus concerns
    • Notify school office personnel of any bus schedule delays

    SALARY: The person selected to fill this position will be placed at the appropriate step of the salary schedule contained in the negotiated agreement between the HSS and the Highland Board of Education.
