Norridge School District 80 is seeking a dynamic middle school educator for Math at James Giles School.
The successful candidates will:
- Possess a knowledge of the Math Standards and how to apply these to instruction.
- Possess an understanding of literacy skills and strategies and their applications when teaching writing to middle school students.
- Possess an understanding of the academic and social/emotional needs of middle school students.
- Practice assessment techniques that promote student learning and inform instructional decisions.
- Implement a classroom management model that promotes student exploration while fostering student responsibility and independence.
- Exhibit a demeanor/disposition that engages children in learning and encourages risk taking.
- Practice a collaborative approach to working with colleagues whether at the grade level, school staff level, or district level.
- Promote differentiated instruction to engage all learners in the classroom, with an emphasis on project-based learning.
