Potential exposures include but are not limited to: blood-borne pathogens; aggressive behavior from students; cold and hot temperatures; and inclement and severe weather. The environment includes working with students who have unique needs. Some students require significant physical assistance, others may demonstrate hostile and violent behaviors. Travel to multiple sites may be required. Occasional attendance at meetings or activities outside of the normal worksite may be required.

The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA): Special Programs & Student Success Coordinator serves as a critical support resource across two complementary areas of student success. This position is responsible for coordinating Special Education compliance, systems, and operational functions while simultaneously co-designing and implementing comprehensive college and career readiness programming for high school students. The TOSA partners with administrators, teachers, counselors, families, and community stakeholders to ensure all students — including those with disabilities — have equitable access to the pathways, services, and support necessary to succeed in high school and persist through postsecondary education or career training.
