Volunteers only need to complete the background check form once and the results will follow the parent through their childrens' years at Orono Schools. However, based on administrative discretion, volunteers may be required to complete an additional background check for varying circumstances. If you are unsure whether you need to complete a background check, please discuss with the staff member coordinating the volunteer position. The background checks charge is $10.00 and the information will be kept confidential. Scholarships to cover the cost of the background check are available upon request.
Please initiate the volunteer background check process through the following online form:
Trusted Employees Background Check Application
The online form includes an option for volunteers to request a copy of their own report. Human Resources staff members will review the results of each background check. If there are any concerns regarding the results of a background check, Human Resources will contact that individual directly within 24-48 hours after receiving the results.
Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to maintain a safe and secure educational environment for our students.
