Position Overview:
The Activity Sponsor is responsible for organizing, supervising, and promoting a student organization or club in alignment with the school district's mission, policies, and student development goals. The sponsor serves as a mentor, leader, and liaison between students, staff, and administration to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging extracurricular experience.

Responsibilities:
· Provide active and effective supervision for all club-related activities, including meetings, events, field trips, and practices, ensuring student safety and compliance with school conduct and safety protocols.
· Ensure all off-campus activities are approved through district procedures and that appropriate permission slips and transportation arrangements are completed in compliance with Board policy.
· As a mandated reporter under Illinois law, comply with all training and reporting obligations pursuant to 325 ILCS 5/4 and Board policy.
· Demonstrate knowledge and expertise related to the activity by preparing students for participation, clearly defining expectations and responsibilities, and offering constructive feedback to support their development.
· Guide students in planning and executing meaningful, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate activities that align with the club’s mission and school values.
· Coordinate logistics and facility usage with appropriate school personnel and departments to ensure well-organized and safe events.
· Use feedback and participation data to inform program decisions, continuously striving to improve the quality and impact of the club or activity.
· Comply with the activities-committee pool assignment process (e.g., notification deadlines for sponsor needs, pool sign-up procedures)
· Promote student involvement by modeling positive interpersonal relationships and encouraging respectful interactions among students and between students and adults.
· Provide students with leadership and participation opportunities that foster engagement, teamwork, shared decision-making and responsibility.
· Support students' academic success by encouraging a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and extracurricular involvement, and by collaborating with teachers and staff as needed.
· Enforce academic eligibility in accordance with IHSA and district policy.
· Promote student self-esteem and personal growth through positive reinforcement and recognition of effort and achievement.

Stipends are not calculated based on hours worked and are considered payment for duties performed outside the regular instructional day. Subject to satisfactory criminal background clearance and drug screening as required by Illinois School Code and District policy. This team comprehensively identifies and monitors students who need and receive support. The Dean works with the Principal and Assistant Principals/GLP to develop and maintain comprehensive interventions needed for students. Designs and maintains programs that promote student wellness, family partnerships, and quality advising for students. The Dean supports the Administrative Team in fostering positive student behavior and creating an atmosphere of mutual respect between faculty and students, staff and students, and students toward each other. Leads the restorative practices programs and supports MTSS initiatives for students and develops and implements restorative practices with the Administrative Team. The Dean will collaborate with Lead Security and Building Security Officers to maintain campus safety and security. Serves on the building leadership team as requested by the Principal. Assist the Building Administration with the daily operations related to student attendance, discipline and supervision, to ensure the safety and security of the school environment.
