    Salary: This is full-time twelve month position at 232 days within the fiscal year. The annual salary is a minimum of $67,425.00.

    Primary Purpose: Under the supervision of the OER Project Coordinator, the OER Program Manager will assist the OER Project Coordinator with the management of all processes for the purpose of procuring, editing, and reviewing instructional materials related to English language Arts/Reading, Spanish Language Arts/Reading, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and other education fields for the purpose of providing teaching, learning, and research resources that will reside in the public domain for use by Texas educators. A significant focus of the OER Program Manager will be handling a process of procuring instructional materials including writing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and collaborating with content advisors to review instructional materials.

    Minimum Certification/Education:
    • Current Texas Teacher Certification (required)
    • Bachelor's degree in education (required)
    • Master's degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment or a related content field (required)

    • Five years of classroom teaching experience (required)
    • Three years of education administration, preferably within academic services (required)
    • Extensive experience with project management (required)
    • Extensive experience with developing RFPs and managing contract processes (required)

    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of project management with a proven track record of success
    • Comprehensive knowledge of budgeting with a proven track record of fiscal responsibility
    • Comprehensive knowledge of copy right and intellectual property permissions
    • Current knowledge of curriculum trends, technology, assessment, and school systems
    • Knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
    • Knowledge of curriculum design including organizational structure and standards alignment
    • Knowledge of effective pedagogy including differentiation and technology integration
    • Commitment to a growth mindset by actively seeking to build knowledge and expertise to develop and refine work
    • Commitment to seeing a large scale project through to completion
    • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams of contractors for the purposes of troubleshooting challenges and resolving discrepancies as well as clarifying workflows and tasks

    • Ability to create and_lead training on work processes, team calibration, and communication processes
    • Ability to work productively in a virtual environment with great reliance one mail and phone as primary forms of communication with contractor teams
    • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, respectfully, and inclusively with contractors, ESC staff, and Texas Education Agency (TEA) staff
    • Ability to communicate progress regarding development efforts including timelines, areas of concern, and potential solutions to the OER Project Director
    • Ability to provide detailed, constructive feedback explanation
    • Ability to communicate knowledgeably and regularly with TEA staff about processes, timelines, and the detailed work of contractor teams
    • Ability to reliably meet deadlines and prioritize tasks to deliver quality edited products
    • Strong command the English language including conventions of grammar and mechanics
    • Ability to operate in Microsoft Office Suite (required)

    • Assist the Director and Project Coordinator of the project as needed
    • Assists the OER Project Coordinator with the editing and the review process
    • Manage all processes for the purpose of procuring, editing, and reviewing instructional materials for completeness
    • Provides training for the ESC Content Specialists review team on the rubric as well as on the platform where the materials are housed and the process for documenting scores on the rubric
    • Screens materials for completeness
    • Responsible for communicating with TEA and submitters
    • Works as a team with the Director, Project Coordinator, Budget Manager and Program Assistant
    • Other duties assigned

As workload fluctuates, you have the opportunity to take flex and telecommute days to accommodate that balance.
