Summary: An Early Childhood Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the lead teacher by organizing and maintaining the classroom environment, preparing materials and activities, contributing to curriculum plans, and providing classroom instruction for children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Six months to one year experience and/or training; Associate's degree (A.A), CDA; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Throughout a typical school day, tutors work in person with students across multiple class periods, collaborating closely with teachers to ensure tutoring is aligned, and responsive to student needs. Tutors also serve as mentors and advocates who create a safe, supportive environment where students feel valued, capable, and motivated to reach their goals. Key Responsibilites:

We are in need of substitute paraprofessionals to work in the Special Education and General areas listed below. Special Education ESP Substitute jobs that are "Intensive" are paid the hourly rate of $22.25.
Security ESP Substitute jobs are paid the hourly rate of $21.25.

The current need is for Elementary, Kindergarten and Special Education substitute teachers. Middle and High School opportunities to substitute teach are posted as needed but quickly fill. If you keep your availability wide open, you can substitute teach almost everyday! If you have no experience in classroom teaching, Rochester Public Schools offers paid training! Rate of Pay: A full day is $200 per day. A full day is 7 hours or more. A half day is $100. A half day is 3 hours and 30-59 minutes. Additional instructions will be provided at your HR appointment on how training days are tracked and paid.
