    2026 Assistant Pool Manager

    Rush City Schools has an immediate opening for a 2026 Assistant Pool Manager for the summer season at the Rush City Aquatic Center. The Aquatic Center operates seven days a week (Monday–Sunday) from June through August.

    Position Summary

    The Assistant Pool Manager reports to the Community Education Director and works under the general supervision of the Pool Manager. This position supports daily operations, staff supervision, safety oversight, and facility management to ensure a safe and positive experience for all patrons.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Enforce policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective pool and facility operations
    • Assist with personnel management, including staff training and development
    • Participate in staff selection and make hiring recommendations to the Community Education Director or Superintendent
    • Oversee and maintain staff/site schedules
    • Coordinate staff training; address performance concerns and implement discipline procedures under supervision of the Pool Manager
    • Provide information and assistance to guests and staff; promptly address patron complaints and concerns
    • Oversee student safety and ensure instruction follows American Red Cross standards
    • Ensure students are properly tested, placed in appropriate swim levels, and accurately evaluated at lesson completion
    • Assist with required paperwork (Red Cross forms, accident reports, timesheets, daily receipts, etc.) and ensure timely and accurate filing
    • Assist with purchasing facility and concession supplies
    • Support collection, verification, and preparation of revenue deposits; provide budget recommendations to the Pool Manager
    • Participate in facility maintenance to ensure the pool remains safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations
    • Ensure pumps and mechanical systems are functioning properly
    • Provide daily operational coverage and be available during all hours the pool is open
    • Assist the Pool Manager in ensuring adequate staffing levels, including during high patron volume or unexpected issues

    Additional Expectations

    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
    • Ability to respond promptly when issues arise

    Rush City High School is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026-27 School Year. This is a 1.0 FTE position focused on supporting students in grades 7-12. Candidates with experience in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) will be given preference. Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Special Education licensure is required. We welcome applicants with any Special Education licensure, with strong consideration given to those with DCD, SLD, EBD, or ABS licensure. While experience is preferred, it is not required.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop a program and learning environment that addresses the unique needs of students, supporting their engagement with the general education curriculum to the fullest extent possible.
    • Provide instruction to assigned students based on their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and prepare academic materials following the approved curriculum.
    • Write IEPs and Due Process Reports in compliance with MDE regulations.
    • Conduct student evaluations for special education eligibility and services.
    • Assess the needs of assigned students through both formal and informal assessments.
    • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
    • Collaborate with administration to coordinate paraprofessional support as required in students' IEPs.
    • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings as necessary.
    • Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

    Rush City Schools is currently seeking a daily substitute teacher for the remainder of the 25-26 school year. The LTS will typically support the elementary school with some support at the High School as needed. The ideal candidate will be flexible in covering all grade levels K-12 and possess the ability to work with all students. These individuals will report for duty on all remaining student contact days from approximately 7:45 am - 3:15 pm daily. Compensation will align with the current Teacher Master Agreement at approximately $259 per day.

    Successful candidates will hold a valid Minnesota teaching license or a short-call substitute license. Short-call substitute licenses can be obtained through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board typically require a bachelor's degree; however, other avenues to obtain licensure may apply to some candidates.
