Job Summary: The successful candidate must be able to administer psychological, intellectual, and academic evaluations to students identified with or suspected of having disabilities. These evaluations must result in comprehensive written reports and verbal presentations detailing outcomes and recommendations. The school psychologist serves as a collaborative member of the IEP team assisting with interpretation of independent evaluations, determinations of special education eligibility and recommendations for appropriate special education programming. Consultation with teachers and administrators regarding students with disabilities is also part of the role responsibilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills, good organization/time management skills, and knowledge of special education procedures are fundamental.
