STIPEND: $3,800 for summer/fall season QUALIFICATIONS:
Assists in the instructional delivery of the band curriculum.
Instructs students on their instruments, at their level, and ensures each student’s progress by providing as much individualization as possible as assigned by the Band Director.
Helps supervise students at all performances, rehearsals and on trips.
Works with the High School Band Director to organize and carry out a practice schedule.
Helps develop routines for half-time shows, school events, and public service appearances. Helps coordinate activities with the color guard majorettes, and other special groups.
Helps develop and coordinate off-season activities (e.g. summer training clinics, etc.).
Provides for band participation at extracurricular events including concerts, football games, basketball games, pep rallies, parades, and community events.
Assists with the implementation of band trips in accordance with district policy and regulations as well as student interest and ability.
Helps support band booster club activities.
Assists with tryouts for the band.
Cooperates with the school administration in providing music programs for school productions, graduation ceremonies, and, as appropriate, civic functions that enhance the students’ performing experience.
Assists with preparing students and required documents for District and State auditions and competitions. Assists with making all arrangements.
Maintains an equipment inventory as directed. Assists with the cleaning and repair of instruments as directed.
Ensures that equipment is safe to use and available when needed.
Assists in ordering supplies and materials necessary for band-related activities in accordance with established district procedures and budget allocations.
Uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Band Director and the Activities Director.

Complete the Effective Substitute Teaching class (EDCI 1005). This course is offered through Sheridan College at the Johnson County Campus in Buffalo, Wyoming. The requirements for the course, syllabi, and sample schedule are listed below. This is a two-week course offered every fall and spring semester. Tuition for this course is $238 and requires an additional $100 fee payable to PTSB for the application and fingerprint fees.
