ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Participate in curriculum review and design.
Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Reading, Special Reading).
Effectively implement district initiatives.
Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Job Duties: Teach students at elementary level in English and Spanish. Prepare and develop lesson plans in English and Spanish aimed at improving the students English language skills and applying knowledge of core academic subjects that fulfill the requirements of districts curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning style and needs of students assigned. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations and effectively manage students' behavior and provide meaningful instructions in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Work with non-native English speakers and teach in a Spanish language and work with students to improve their English speaking abilities. Communicate naturally without miscommunication both oral and written in English and Spanish with accuracy and fluency using correct structures, expressions, basic and academic grammar/vocabulary. Instruct students in both English and Spanish language, and able to explain difficult concepts in terms that students can understand. Enforce classroom rules, communicate with parents, and prepare students for standardized tests and grade papers. Respond patiently to students when they struggle with work material and activities. Develop activities that are tailored towards improving the students' ability to learn in a bilingual setting. Assess and evaluate student performance and learning in accordance with specified guidelines and reporting evaluations to the principal and students' parents. Determine special needs of students and recommend appropriate measures to address these needs; conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities. Collaborate with teacher assistants and special education teachers effectively to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to district requirements, as well as to discuss student’s needs with parents and administrators.

Job Title: Campus Receptionist

The District Police Officer is responsible for handling law enforcement and police-related matters at District facilities as outlined in the Texas Penal Code, Code of Criminal procedures, District’s Board Policy, Management Guidelines, Departmental Rules and Regulations, and as directed by the Chief of Police. The District Police Officer is responsible for working cooperatively with the school administration, students, staff members, other District police officers, and officers from all law enforcement agencies to maintain positive campus security and a safe and secure campus environment. All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, communicate in a clear and respectful manner, championing the needs of our students, and drive continuous improvement.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Patrol the District and provide police services to individual facilities, students, and staff
Operate a District vehicle and patrol school property or an assigned area to deter criminal offenses such as fire, burglary, theft, vandalism, and other unauthorized activities.
Perform routine daily patrol car servicing (gas, oil, tires, etc.) to ensure a properly functioning vehicle.
Investigate criminal offenses that occur within the District’s jurisdiction or against the District.
Enforce regulations for and on District school buses.
Investigate suspicious persons in and around schools.
Report the misuse of buildings and property belonging to the District.
Enforce all the general and criminal laws of Texas within the District’s jurisdiction.
Provide police services and assistance to the administration, other officers, students, and staff.
Assist the traffic control on streets, at athletic events, school closings, school openings, or any other location deemed necessary to ensure the safety and welfare of students and staff.
Assist school staff in emergency situations, inside the building when notified.
Prepare a written report of each incident or relevant observation that occurs on campus.
Provide police services at District-sponsored events, on or off-campus.
Establish a positive working relationship among students, staff, and the community.
Be available to work overtime as assigned by the Chief of Police.

HIT (High Intensive Tutoring) Program
Position Title: Secondary Tutor
Reports to: After School Activities Coordinator
Position Summary
An elementary tutor will be assigned to an elementary campus for at least one hour after school. Tutors will be responsible for 3-5 students. The tutor will be responsible for developing reading or math skills that students are lacking due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The tutor will use programs provided by the district to guide the tutoring session. Tutors will need to track the students progress on the software, and run small group instruction with students based on their individual results. The tutor will use the program to run reports and use the program features to run the small group instructional sessions. The program will be open Monday through Thursday from 3:15 to 4:15, and there will be additional sessions from 5:15 to 6:15. Tutors must work a minimum of two days per week. Training on the software programs and structure of a tutoring session will be provided in June. Tutors must attend the training sessions. They will be held on trade days.
Pay: $50 per hour
Instruction and assessment
Conduct small group and one on one instruction using materials provided by the district
Assist students to improve their math and reading skills and their abilities to reach grade level expectations

Asses students progress through monitoring and generating reports on the program provided

Network & Security Administrator

Primary Purpose:
Maintains computing environment and IP camera environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance.
CCNA or equivalent certification
Knowledge of Cisco switch environment.
Ability to install, maintain, and repair Cisco switches and access points.
Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware.
Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
Experience:
Three to six years work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing network infrastructure.
Specific district systems include: Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, Vivotek, and Hanwha.
